I am wanting to get my first micro-dermal piercing and was looking into a third-eye piercing, but that gets into the topic of cultural appropriation. I have been reading over articles/posts on various sites from people from India and their views on it. There are quite a few that see nothing wrong with it and say that it's flattering when people enjoy aspects of their culture. There are also people against it, but most of the time it's white people getting offended on their behalf.

Knoxxi It sounds like it's just a piercing that goes where the "third eye" is, or right around the middle of the forehead.

beforenoon I've seen people with micro-dermal piercings in other places on the face, but it's all up to you whether you want it there or not. I'd keep in mind the scars and things like that if you ever want it removed though in the future (if you haven't thought of that already)

During this time and age, is there even 'cultural appropriations' anymore?
Embracing something you enjoy, not a single group of people can claim something only they can do.
The only worries you should have is career rules and the healing process. If you can pass the healing process (like how did an earring heal?), and you'll be having a nice job that accepts these looks (like call centers, art, ect.), go for it!

IntelligentWolf I was wanting to get my anti-eyebrow and third eye done, I don’t mind at all about scars tbh, but I do need to figure out how to prevent ripping it out in my sleep :|

MaximumSpyro it’s more for looks because I’m not a religious person. I don’t want to come off as disrespectful to anyone of other cultures and culture appropriation is thrown around a lot these days. I have 18 piercings already and they have all healed fantastically and my job is very accepting of piercings, which is great. :>

Gelid the other names for them are ajna chakra, spiritual eye, third eye, or bindi piercing. the most known name for it is the third eye and all seems to refer back to Hindu traditions
