How do I get the dankest summons fastest

Also, is there anything useful I can do with duplicates? I'm getting some already lol

Hell yeah! Re: duplicates, if you upgrade two of the same cards together, you get a limit break.

For example, the base max level for a 1 star card is 30. When upgrading two of the same 1 stars, you gain a limit break and that max level goes up by 5. This can be done up to 4 times. (The indicator you'll see in game is the filling in of 'petals' around the daemon type.

Once you hit that max limit break though, you don't really need more copies of that card anymore (unless you just want to hoard them.. or use them for bonding later - a function that isn't accessible for a newbie til later).


Re: summons, you have two options, free summons and jewel summon. Free summons have available all 1-2 star cards along with a particular selection of 3 star cards. You can get summon points through progressing through story mode, daily event dungeons, and donating to your guild.

Jewel summons have the good stuff(tm). 3-5 star cards are here. You can either buy jewels with IRL cash, get Invokers which are 1 free Jewel Summon passes (you get 1 per story chapter after 100%ing -which is 3 stars for every section-). You can also buy passes in the summon exchange for 15 mochi per day (every subsequent pass bought with mochi is +3, but resets back to 15 after rollover). You get mochi by selling 3 star and up cards or from certain daily dungeons.

Edit: I forgot to mention! Okay, so Otogi is gr8 compared to other games in that their premium cards (basically the jewel summon) is not locked behind a hard to accrue currency paywall!

You get a free daily summon from the jewel summon as long as you log in during the 2 hour time period it is open. I'm on PST (same as FR time) and that is 12:00-14:00. This may vary depending on your timezone.

Uuhh.. okay. Well I've so far only gotten dublicates of mostly daemons I don't like so I can probably just use them for leveling my faves too?

Also you can only use the free jewel summon during a 2 hour period? That seems very weird. But it should be 10pm-12am my time so at least the time works for me lol.

Weeps why can I only bring 4 daemons to fight at once, I'm starting to get more cute onesss.....

Yeah sure! I dunno what kind of player you are, whether you're a collector (like me) or just want to play with your favs/chase that perfect aesthetic(tm). After you hit level 5, I believe, is when you get the option to join a guild. That's when you unlock the guild donation button which despite it's altruistic name, is really just a way to accrue a bunch of free summon points for cheap daily. At that point you get way more 1-2 stars than you need which you can just auto sell, or use em for enhancement fodder. (Personally I'm at the point where I just auto-sell. As you level up you unlock higher grade magatama dungeons so you'll be set on your daily enhancement grind.)

It's an odd system, but I appreciate the free-ness of it. Otogi could have just as well made jewel summons premium pay only, but the fact that they offer a free daily go at it is really nice and an incentive to log in at certain times. c:

Gotcha! Also don't worry about jewels, if you happened to use some for SE replenishing items or something. Otogi is super generous, even their premium currency you can still get via the daily login bonus. Newbies have a slightly different schedule for the first 30 or 60 days or so, but I believe I still get a package of 50 jewels once a week/every other week. c:

There's a timer under it that now says "20h left" but it's 5am FR time? And seesh this game is kinda hard, I'm already getting wiped by chapter 2 fights so I have to grind that one thing under the event to get more level up stuff, or is there anywhere else I can get it outside of mission rewards? The event is pretty impossible mode for me too, unless I get like a max level helper in my party.

Ah yeah, Alyssea has a better idea than me, but since I am on PST (which is the same as FR site time), that is the only frame of reference I can provide. Which for me, the jewel summon chance is 12:00-14:00, and rollover at 0:00. This may or may not differ depending on your own timezone. ^^;

(Fortunately, Otogi has built in countdown timers so it's not difficult to figure out when this or that is live for you.)

For grinding, right now you should have the minor magatama dungeon unlocked which drops 1-2 star magatama. Once you hit level 10 on your player level you unlock the medium magatama dungeon which drops 2-3 star, and the major magatama dungeon at level 20 which drops 3-4 star.

Also, regarding the current event "Chopping Trees? Stop, Please!" I'd say just ignore it/don't worry about it. Otogi has monthly events which come in two flavors, Tower and Conquest.

Tower is simply a story mode event. You complete chapter sections to progress and while they are long, they are generally more newbie friendly.

Conquest, which is what this current event is, is 'fight the raid boss' style. You have to beat the boss, which comes back at higher and higher levels. You need a good amount of prep in order to do these efficiently and in general is very overwhelming for newbies.

I'd say, just skip it. I skipped my first event as well because I simply wasn't established enough for it. Besides, there will always be more in the future. c:
