Hey any users from France here? There seems to be a tragedy in Nice and dozens may be dead. Also there was an exchange of gunfire from the police and the driver of the truck.

If you are in Nice, then chances are you know to shelter in place right now. Still though, France can't catch a break it would seem.

Anything further on it, let me know as it's breaking news over here in America. That said, I think it's absolutely terrible that this is happening, let alone on Bastille Day.

Edit-To be sure, it hasn't been confirmed as a terrorist attack at this point in time. So until any confirmation I'll take out anything about terrorism.

Edit 2-Regrettably at this time they're now saying 73 dead and the truck had firearms, explosives and other weaponry. Seriously hoping that the number dead is a misquote/mistype rather than the true number and is lower.

US Embassy or not-try to stay indoors and away from any public places. If possible, try to get in contact with your nation's embassy to see what they have to say.

Not confirmed as a terrorist attack for now, and there was no revendication yet.
The conductor was killed by the police.

They speak of 60 dead.... just on our national day too !! Why can't they leave us alone???

CNN states 30 dead, 100 injured, though these statistics might be wrong. This is terrible news, I have visited there many times.

My thoughts & prayers go out to those in the area as well as those affected by this.

It's a suspected terrorist attack, but we're still waiting for confirmation on that. It probably was, though.

I am so sad...France has been suffering for a while now at the hands of terrorist and independent attacks. It's despicable. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nice, and all of France.

My heart goes out to everyone in France. I don't know why they want to keep targeting all of you but please be safe. It's so horrible that people can actually do such a thing.

I'm so sad this happened, especially on an important holiday where everyone should celebrating and happy...but unfortunately this attack occurred. I don't know why people would do things like this.

Oh man, I feel terrible! I cant imagine the heartache and pain over there right now. France has been through enough! My heart goes out to anyone in France ;u; I hope you guys can pull through, you're an awesome nation!!!

I'm kind of numb. It feels like Paris was just yesterday, and that France just can't catch a break. It feels like these "terrorist" attacks or mass murders are a weekly if not daily event. When I heard about it today, part of me wasn't surprised at all. But how someone can drive a truck through a crowd of innocent people, mothers, fathers, children... It baffles me, it really does. This is on an entirely different level from many past acts violence... and is on such a larger scale.

Honestly, I don't know what needs to be done. But something needs to happen. Something drastic. Otherwise nothing is going to change and this is just going to continue to be commonplace across the world.
