TOPIC | What is Lioden? -Joined-
I keep seeing people talking about it. From what little I've read from others it seems it could be interesting, for those that know more about it, what is it and is it fun?

Lioden is similar to Flight Rising, but with lions instead of dragons! I'm still relatively new to it, but it's really fun so far!

Its a Lion sim game where you play as the male leader of a pride. I used to play it but stopped playing once I had to play 'catch up' after a month of hiatus. I tried to by myself some good lionesses with premium currency and it was almost impossible to get something without buying more currency with RL money. Plus there is a age/death feature so whatever you spend on lions is going to waste fast. Items have uses so you will loose them too when you change them from one lion to another. It made fun in the beginning but turned sour really fast for me.

The last nail in the coffin was the fact that they got this 'beggin comunity' going. I've had only single PMs going at first asking for free stuff (from other users not being able to keep up with the economy in the game) but soon I got tons of these again and again with the mods and admins doing nothing to stop the players/the ongoing of begging PMs. To be fair there really isn't much the admins can do about this.

Never laid hand on Lioden again. Been away now for over 3 years (I think?) And not miss it too much. The art was really nice.. I miss that.. But that is all.

@Sai basically it's a lion game with more of a realistic cartoon art
You start off with one male and you are leader of pride
Silver beetles are your currency and gold beetles are your special currency
they have special events each month for almost the whole month.
You have teritory space which is practically your lair space

you can retrieve lioness from exploring and impressing them or you can buy them through trades
Lioness have a breeding cool down of fifteen days and can only be breed when in heat
You can only have ONE main male but you can have sub males though you have to pay a lot to unlock slots for them
You can have like 2-3 cubs for every territory space you have but once they reach 2 years old you should have a territory space for them or a sub male space for them if they are male if no they will run away

they also have a hunger and mood bar and if they're low for too long your lions will leave, your game will notify you if their hunger or/and mood is too low

They have a rollever which you must click or you won't be able to go to any other pages, roll over ages your lions two months I think

They do they have a maximum age until they can breed and then some time after they die. I think it was 15 years for the male and 12 or 13 for the females. Any player still on lionden correct me if I remember wrong (which is likely)

Every day counts a month and I think your lions become adults at 12 months. So you can calculate the playtime you have per lion. It kinda sets a pressure to work under that some players feel missing on FR - I work better without it. I guess it is personal preference.

@Ismaiel had it close :) Your main male dies at the age of 16 years, and females die between the ages of 15 and 16 years. Cubs turn into Adolescents at 1 year and become Adults at 2 years.

When you create your account and your first male, your male's stats are quite low. You can increase these stats by doing activities, such as exploring, in which you can battle NPCs, claim lionesses for your pride, and find various foods/items for your hoard. You gain experience and level up by doing these things, and reaching certain levels unlocks different areas for you to explore.

You also gain some percentage of Impression by doing certain things. The higher your impression level, the easier it is to claim those wild lionesses. There is also a weekly Special Lioness that players with the highest impression level (Dreamboat) can try to impress and win (sort of like a raffle).

When you are first starting out, you only have 2 territory space. Territory space is what determines how many lionesses and cubs you can have in your pride. To get more territory space, there is a special map (called Territory) under the Explore tab where you can "fight" other players for territory space. Basically, you click around the map until you come across a player you think you can beat, based on both of your stats. If you win, you get 1 additional territory space and some amount of experience and impression. If you lose, you don't lose anything, which is great :) (Note: You're not taking territory from someone if you beat them, just adding to your own)

Lionesses are able to breed once they go into heat. When in heat, a little flame icon will appear next to their name in your den. You can either breed your lioness with your male, or you can request to breed with another player who has put their male up for studding (which will cost you SB or GB, depending on the price that player has set). A pregnant lioness will give birth after 3 days. You need to have made a nest for her before she gives birth, and you must keep her well-fed, or you risk losing your cubs.

Lionesses aren't just for breeding, however. To get enough food for your pride, you need to send them out hunting. You can send 5 lionesses out hunting at a time, and each lioness can hunt a maximum of 10 times per day. Lionesses gain stats and experience with each successful hunt, and higher level lionesses are more likely to succeed on a hunt and bring down bigger game.

The main currency for Lioden is called Silver Beetles (SB). You can gain SB by finding some while exploring or by selling lions/items to other players. The premium currency is called Golden Beetles (GB). This currency costs real money to obtain, but it is possible to obtain by selling certain items to other players. GB is much more difficult to obtain than SB, but it isn't necessary to play the game, so there really isn't much of a problem there.

There are also events every month (which last the whole month) in which you can get special currency by performing event-related actions. As more of these actions are performed, special event shops are unlocked where you can spend that month's currency on event items.

One of the great things about Lioden is that the admins are constantly adding new items and features to the game. They are great about listening to the community and do everything they can to make Lioden enjoyable. They often ask the community's opinion on new features via polls, which means we actually have a say in what gets implemented next into the game.

I will say that this game requires a bit of patience. It takes time to build up the stats of your lion and lionesses. Unless you have a bunch of money to spend on GB, you're not gonna be able to get lions with high stats very quickly. However, taking the time to build up your lions is EXACTLY what Lioden is supposed to be about. A lot of people think it's all about getting the stats, rare markings, or currency as quickly as possible. If you're one of those people, you probably won't really enjoy the game that much.

I think that's everything :) Feel free to ping me if you have any questions about what I wrote :)
