I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I've read all 4 books in the trilogy. There was some interesting world building, but the story and characters are just so generic. Eragon being the worst in that respect. He goes from Luke Skywalker's whiny rip-off, to Legolas bad*** cousin. And everything he ever needed just fell into his lap.
As soon as I saw the ads for the movie I started listing all of the things that'd be wrong with it. Everything I said was in user and critic reviews by the time it was released.

I was like "...bald? that's...odd but okay whatever I'll buy it"
Even Saphira was wrong, like she introduced herself but Eragon was the one who named her! Adn the heck feathered wings? she's described having leathery ones >> And course the magic growth spurt course they did it to cut movie time but still.

Ahh yess definitely. More female Urgals and Dwarves. I really like the Urgal culture, mainly because the Urgals started out as some henchmen baddies in the first book but then they were given more depth as a race and as individuals. Would love for a female Urgal rider. And would absolutely love to see a Dwarf rider too, simply because of how they reacted to being included.
No, I don't think Thorn ever spoke to anyone else. I believe that was even said in the book somewhere. He was too distraught or ashamed or something, unless I'm remembering incorrectly. They both went off to regain themselves from what Galby did. But there was also some warning the Eldunari gave to them about the Barrows of Anghelm.
Ah yes her! I think it might of been because I never if rarely ever see female smiths, let alone master smiths. Just made me happy to see gender tropes being stomped on. And she was interesting too.
At first I thought it was because the human race devolved as a society after the Second Dragon War because of a loss of information, but Arya made many comments about the sexism in the human race. I can only assume even when the Order was around the human race still had sexist tendencies?

THE FEATHER WINGS DRIVE ME CRAZY. Every time I see movie Saphira I just ask myself why. WHY. I MEAN it would cost more to give her feathers wouldn't it?? Animating individual feathers vs leathery scales?

Yeah, and the Ra'zac were way off too. I think this pretty much sums it up:

If I remember correctly, it's been a while, Thorn was traumatized by the forced magical growth he went through and the way Galbatorix treated him and Murtagh thanks to their psychic link. That's why he never spoke to anyone.

I'm wondering what will happen to Urgals as a whole now that they are included. I think Arya or Orormis said somewhere that humans were savage barabrians until they were included in the pact. Then, they became more civilized, but reverted back a bit after the fall of the Riders. I think it was explained that now that the dragons, elves, and humans were linked, their fates were intertwined and when one race suffers, so do the others. I'm wondering if the Urgals' warlike culture will shift into something less violent. Nar Garzhvog said somewhere in Eldest or Brisingr that his race must change or they will all die. Maybe becoming a part of the Riders will save them from that fate.
'Kay, just making sure. I really want to know what his personality's like, and also what his mind-voice sounds like. If I recall correctly, Firnen had a really deep voice, and so did Gleadr, but to a lesser extent.
That might go back to the fall of the Riders and how humans degraded. I don't think there's anything in canon to back that up, but it's an interesting thought.
EDIT: I seem to recall that being mentioned now. Thanks.
