So, I have Lakeview Manor, my favorite house in Skyrim, and now I want to adopt my two children. However, I am a busy cat woman, and don't want to leave them home alone. I need to find a husband and steward to watch my estate.
On my main file I have Scouts-Many-Marshes for a husband and Erik from Rorikstead as my steward. However, I quickly grew bored of my lizard man and realized that my steward has the
same voice actor as my bard, which irritated me.
So! I need some help picking a husband and steward! We have established my bard's voice actor, so I need a husband and steward with different ones than him, and a different voice from each other. I like diversity. :)
Since I am unable to marry in my own race, even a gay marriage (racist!) I have to choose another, obviously. I'm not picky, though I am fond of Dark Elves for some reason. I like their accent.
My main problem is that I can't find any husbands that don't look really old and/or that can be abducted by bandits. One of the problems with my lizard husband is that he does not get that quest, and I'd like it from time to time to keep things interesting.
As for stewards, I just need someone whose voice actor is not the same as my husband and bard. I also don't want a husband or steward who's involved in any major quests, like the Companions.
Anyone have any recommendations for both a good steward and husband?
I wish I could just marry Brynjolf, sexy b*stard.

Oh man, doesn't everyone in Skyrim look pretty old? 'Cept for some of the women. What gives?!
Anyway! For hubbies, I really love Cosnach from Markarth. He has the drunk guy voice, which cracks me up, and his spouse dialogue is really cute. He says "I love you" a lot. :D
Do you want a male steward? If not, I think that Rayya from Falkreath is a good one. She looks so awesome. If you do want a male one, Roggi from Kynesgrove is my choice because he's a sweetie. Cheeriest Nord ever.
I actually had no idea that your spouse could get kidnapped! That has never happened to me, and I have Hearthstone and everything. It does sound quite exciting. :o

Trellia Ah I also love the drunkard dialogue! They're crack ups, and I feel like my kids will love him xD I'll give him a shot! I do prefer male stewards. Can't have some broad in the house with my husband all day and night ;)
Since he's never gotten kidnapped, I'll have to check if he can be. I sure hope so- he sounds awesome.

Are you playing on the PC? Because my favorite wife was always myself. Open up the old console and createfullactorclone, at least I think that one worked in skyrim, and there you go. There's like a dozen console commands to create a copy of yourself in skyrim and it was always fun to have an army of you. You can also use the console to add nearly any NPC to the follower and marriage factions as you see fit. The exceptions are NPCs with unique voice files and things that don't have standard human voice files. Though I'm sure there are mods to bypass it.

I thought Balimund was a nice husband, he seemed good natured. But then you have to take him out of Riften to live with you and that sucks.

Skub unfortunately, I am stuck with xbox360, so no fun mods for me u.u
If I could just mod a husband, Kharjo or Brynjolf for sure.

Dang, PC is definitely where I go for bethesda games. Elder scrolls at least, I've always found the fallout modding scene to be lacking in comparison. I had Oblivion on 360 and played it to death though. Anyway. I always just made the default stewards you got from becoming thane my eternal house guards. Outfitted them in ebony armor and let them live forever as my petty bouncers, keeping all those horrible giants and spiders out of my shacks.
