I'm sorry but I'm getting tired of people hating on the color pink and girly girls. I consider myself a girly girl my favorite color is pink. And this isn't just my emotional sensitivity speaking - never once have I hear anybody say "I dislike punks" or "I hate tomboys!" Everywhere I go it's just a bunch of "I freaking hate pink!"
Like, what the heck?? It's a color and style! People need to learn how to accept each other and realize how they would feel if someone said the same about something they liked. Yeah, sure some wouldn't care, but remember that there's people like me who do..and it makes us feel like we should stop being ourselves just to be accepted...
I know this may seem like me getting worked up over something small, but it actually isn't that little of a thing. Go online and you're bound to find someone with an issue with pink and girly things. A color and style. I don't know about you, but I see it everywhere.
Also, people say that I should stop liking pink because I'm too old.
....
THE HECK???
It's a freaking color! I don't tell you that you shouldn't like My Little Pony 'cause it's for girls or blue is for boys.
---sigh...I needed to get that of my chest...---
So that being said, keep being you, because you're beautiful. Yes, people on the internet say it to strangers all the time, but it's more true than you'll probably ever know. Stay you. Unless you're a unaccepting butthead becuase then you should probably change.

i don't like pink or girly things, but i certainly don't judge people for liking it, either! i think that's the way a lot of people feel about it, and i don't think they mean any offense towards you or other pink-lovers by saying that. n.n

usually it's the stupid ""edgy"" kids who are like "EWWW I HATE PINK!!! DRESSES EW!!! DON'T DO THAT!!!" who are also usually 12 and don't know any better.

I think some people mistakenly hate girly girls because they fit into the traditional gender molds for what girls are supposed to like.
People rail against that because they believe that these are sexist stereotypes and it's holding back humankind to be girly.
They're wrong.
The sexist stereotype is assuming that ALL girls HAVE to like pink and girly things, NOT that some girls-or guys!-like girly things.
People should stop hating on girly girls. It's still a form of misogyny, and who honestly cares? Nobody has time to hate on people when they could be doing something they actually enjoy!

Hmm, I noticed this when I was younger, but it's since then gone away. I'd have to agree with ArisaArtisan on this one, not to generalize, but some younger kids who are looking to push away from what they consider to be "society's norms" will act distastefully towards "girly girls" since that's generally what girls are portrayed to be like in society.
Of course, it's perfectly fine to like these sorts of things or to not like them, but they're all a matter of opinion and personal style.

girly girl is kind of what society expects girls to be
being gender non-conforming is frowned upon
that being said, being a girly girl isn't wrong and i don't think other girls should be hated for it if they are... but the same needs to apply for girls that aren't as there definitely is a lot of hate for gnc girls

"Girly girl" isn't a term I've heard since I was in middle school. People will grow out of the petty stuff, because they'll eventually get made fun of for it. Sexism in adulthood is more worrisome, and usually presents itself in more complex ways. Just keep standing up for yourself in the face of anyone who tries to get you down.

Hatched a triple-orca baby from a single-egg nest. The parents have a 65-color primary range, a 41-color secondary range, and a 17-color tertiary range. There was a .0022% chance of this color combo happening. But it’s not a g1 and there are 42,538 triple-orca dragons unexalted. This is the best luck you've ever had on this site and it’s simultaneously completely unimpressive. Incredible. Dragon ID: #74228362XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXEarned:2021-12-11
I love it when girls are girly girls. I don't think any girl should feel like they need to 'man-up' if they instead want to pick flowers, wear dresses, and enjoy pink.
Heck, I'm a straight guy and I love pink. Pink is good.

because internalized misogyny is a thing and people see girls liking stereotypically feminine things in a society that has learned to equate "feminine" with stupid and shallow.

i'm still a girly girl, the stereotypical whininess and princessiness hasn't gone away either, it's just that now the princessiness has turned into 'can my boyfriend kill cockaroaches?' and the whininess...well, I can come up with a few words for my attitude when I don't get what i want
people just dislike it because it's not a well-managed trope. when you see a girly-girl in media as a character they're usually super annoying or immature, and the mature and quiet stereotype is often associated with sexiness, so there's not much to combine there. however i may add that girly girl ness is EXTREMELY well received in some places like japan where that's everyone's preference.
but yeah, i think it's simply that. and i don't think it's much of an issue with misogyny more than badly handled feminism, where people become so ill towards anything that girls might feel they get squished into that they think no one can possibly dig zebra stripes and hot pink.
well guess what.
you're missing out on a lot of fun here buddy. B^)
