I love the Scott Pilgrim movie, it's definitely in my top ten. So many great one liners, scene transitions, comic book/video game references, actors I love, it's just great. I really want to read the comic books soon, if I can get my hands on them.

Anyone else love Scott Pilgrim? If you haven't seen the movie I highly recommend it!

If anyone has read the comics, what did you think?

I always felt that Michael Cera was a really off choice for Scott, but everyone else was really stellar.
It isn't Cera's fault either, mind, but he was just a very poor choice for the character. In terms of acting, he did fine, but casting whiffed on his role.

Barinellos Did you read the comics? It would make sense if he didn't really fit the comic character. I liked him in the movie, but probably because I haven't read the comics yet.
I agree that there was some great acting/casting. I'd really love to see Chris Evans as a villain again soon, I think he did a great job. Wallace's actor was really great too. :)

Yes, I read the comics. I think the best person I would have chosen for the role would probably have been Justin Long.
Michael Cera was just a little too skinny and awkward. He ended up, and I say this with as much affection as I can muster, kinda dweeby, which didn't fit Scott at all.
Scott's no genius by any stretch, but mostly he just came across as an oblivious moron rather than someone quite as socially inept and softspoken as Cera's Scott did.

Ah, that makes sense. Do you think it was a directing/script decision or Cera's take on Scott?

I think it was pretty much just Cera there. Like I said, his acting wasn't bad, but he just didn't fit the character.
To some degree, I think there wasn't a lot of on-screen chemistry between him and the others either. He played off of Ramona and Wallace okay, but everyone else was much more interesting when he wasn't on screen.
