TOPIC | Glimmer & Gloom - Solving the Hard board
This is a line by line breakdown of how to solve the Hard board of G&G.

Once you get the hang of it, it only takes ~10 mins of repeated games to max the Fairgrounds, so it's one of the fastest ways to get your 75k.

In this guide, I will be solving for Shadow because 'turning off the lights' makes sense to me. Though you absolutely can 'turn on the lights' instead if that makes more sense to you - simply substitute 'Shadow' for 'Light' in the guide.
The guide

It will be easier if you have a game open alongside the guide so you can follow along. No matter what your starting board looks like, this method still works. Concentrate on the Row you are solving and ignore the rest until you reach it. Once a Row has no more Lights, move onto the next Row.

Row 1

If you only have a single Light, go straight to the singles section for Row 1.

Pairs.

Look for a pair of Lights next to each other. Pressing the button directly below the pair will get rid of it.

Have a pair of Lights with a gap? You can move a Light along a row by pressing the button below that touches its bottom side. Down left will move the Light left, while down right will move the Light right. Move the Lights together to make a pair and then press the button directly below the pair to get rid of it.

Singles.

To get rid of a single Light you have to chase it off the side of the row. You can move any Light to the side by pressing the button touching it on the row below. Move the Light along to the edge by pressing down left to move left or down right to move right. Once it reaches the end of the row, you can press the edge button on the row below to get rid of it.

Row 2.

This is solved in exactly the same way as Row 1. Get rid of pairs and chase the singles off the edge.

Now that the row is longer, you might have a pair of Lights with a large gap between them. If the gap between the Lights is longer than the gap to the edge of the row, then treat them as two single Lights and chase them off the sides instead.

Row 3.

This is solved the same as Row 1 and Row 2.

It is even more likely that your Lights are spread out so don't forget to chase them off the edge if it's closer than bringing them together into a pair.

Row 4.

The middle row is where things change. You can't chase singles off the edges anymore. So you have to change the board to work for you.

Count how many Lights you have.

Even number of Lights Row.

Bring them together into pairs and get rid of them by clicking the button directly below the pair.

Odd number of Lights Row.

Click once on every button in order along Row 4. This will change it into an Even Row, so you can pair them up and get rid of them.

Row 5.

It gets trickier now. You have to change more to get the board to work for you when you have an Odd Row.

Count how many Lights you have.

Even number of Lights Row.

Make pairs and get rid of them by clicking the button directly below them.

Odd number of Lights Row.

Click every button once in order along Row 2. Get rid of the pair and chase the single off Row 2. Bring the single closer to make two pairs and get rid of them off Row 3. Get rid of the pairs on Row 4. Now you're back to Row 5, and it should be an Even Row now so you can pair them up and get rid of them.

Row 6.

Last row! Well done for making it this far. Lots of buttons to press to correct an Odd Row, but the pattern is simple.

Even number of Lights Row.

Move the Lights into pairs and get rid of them. Congratulations - you solved the Hard Board of G&G :D

Odd number of Lights Row.

Press button 1 and 4 of Row 1. Press button 2 and 4 of Row 2. Press button 3 and 5 of Row 4. Press button 2 and 5 of Row 5. Press every button once in order across the row of Row 6. Now you will have an Even Row on Row 6, so bring the pair together and get rid of it. Congratulations - you solved the Hard Board of G&G :D

Once you've learned what to do on each Row you can quickly work through any Hard board to victory.

Please let me know if any parts are unclear.

Good luck.
