The chests drop from both elemental and neutral enemies, just like the currency. You can see the list of enemies in the game database:
Form of Memoria Chest,
Celestial Navigation Chest etc.

@Maki oh great, thanks for clearing that up! I assumed just Light, that's great they can drop from neutrals too. None have for me today though [emoji=guardian sad size=1]

So I did 100 battles in the new Boneyard venue and overall fought 205 monsters. The element stats were as follows:
Neutral 46 | 22.44%
Plague 37 | 18.05%
Light 29 | 14.15%
Earth 23 | 11.22%
Shadow 23 | 11.22%
Lightning 22 | 10.73%
Fire 20 | 9.76%
Wind 19 | 9.27%
Water 17 | 8.29%
Arcane 11 | 5.37%
Ice 8 | 3.90%
Nature 7 | 3.41%
There are 2 enemies of every element except for Arcane(1), Neutral(4), Plague(4), and Water(1)
