Since some users i've seen in the forums tend to have not much treasure or gems because of their spendings, i've decided to make a guide of how to control your spending. (This is my way of doing it)
When I hit the 10k, 20k, 30k, 40k, 50k, 60k, 70k, 80k, 90k, or 100k, I send the treasure into the Vault. All of it, unless you want to keep some out, feel free to do so. The same goes with gems.
When you keep receiving treasure or gems, keep doing it. You'll be surprised of how much you've saved. (I'm always surprised tbh xD ) and it's great and helpful for me! Since i'm a shopaholic and I love buying all of these cool things and such.
This is also the best way of saving up for something you've always wanted that is expensive. Like the Scrolls in the Marketplace, and the breed changing scrolls.
One more thing; When you need a certain amount of treasure or gems for any reason, take ONLY the amount you NEED out of the Vault.

I agree, I've been doing this since the vaults came out. I always put it in the vaults in 10k-steps (10k, 20k, 30k... I like the number in the vault to have zeros :P) and I always leave out something beteen 10k and 20k if i really need to buy something. I've saved up over a million in just a week and gened up lots of dragons now!

I spent what I already had on battle items and leveled/statted my dragons to farm the coliseum - I autosold most things like food and materials and put up rare items in the AH. also I bought festival Items with shrooms (I got more shrooms from farming in the coli), kept them for a week and then sold them in the AH.

This is a very good tip! The vault is very good if you want to keep some treasure separate for something big but don't want to stop playing and buying stuff along the way - it takes away the need to keep calculating what proportion of your treasure is 'saved' and what's free to spend. right now my vault is my secret santa stash shhh

Any time I look at my treasure level and think "wow, I have a lot of money!" I throw 25k-50k into the Vault. It's easy to forget its there that way, and I can save up for big things without making it hard to play.
