it was only when i re-read the announcement after seeing that everyone was so certain that Fathoms are a new breed that i saw that they were described as a Fathoms [i]dragon[/i].
i thought that Fathoms was a cool pirate gang/treasure hunting crew name [emoji=banescale tongue size=2]

My thought too. I think it's the face shape combined with the arms. They kinda thick and sloping like a bogsneaks.
I don't mind mind the similarities. Tis cool design.
(Though I do hope they go make something more mm unique for the next one, like going distinct with body shape. Like they did with ridgebacks for example. No dragons around quite like those.)

I was on the new breed boat since I saw the last teaser, and never thought Bogneak to be begin with. No previously existing breeds have webbings. That is the fact I based on my assumption.

I’m pretty sure lore wise bogsneks have some inconsistencies between individual dragons, such as the number of crests.
I also just assumed she was some aquatic bogsnek with adaptations to live in the sea
Tbh I’m hopeful about the Fathom poses. I hope they’re more spicy than what we have with bogsneks rn ;w;

Yeah, I too thought of the "Bogsneaks have differing crests" lore and went "oh cool, webbing is like crests maybe?" Though his arm does look less stubby and more muscled now that we've got the NPC art. Probably just a factor of it being partially offscreen in the preview.

It'd be cool if their lore had it that they're hybrids of Bogsneaks and Mirrors.
I really do think that they look like Mirrors with webbed Bogsneak arms minus the cartilage broad half-antler, plus funny ears, huge fans in the elbows and heels and feathered tails.
