I'm a new-ish player (my account is like two years old but I've only been playing for a month or two) and I'm wondering if it would be a hasty decision to change my flight... Personally, I'm a very nature-y person, but I've obtained some really pretty dragons that make me want to start breeding specifically with a celestial theme... and I don't want them to have green eyes so I'm considering changing to light XD (who've seemed to be topping the leaderboards a lot lately too.) The thing is, I've never done any real breeding projects before, so I worry I'm being too hasty with my one free flight change.

Depends on your reason for switching; if you want to just switch to light to reap the egg benefits you could always just rent a nest from a Light player to get the eye color you wanted.
If you are switching for Dom reasons Light isn't a serious pusher you might want to look more towards Earth or Plague

I'm thinking more of long term theming than a single project, so I feel like renting nests might be a bit of a hassle. dominance isn't my #1 priority, aesthetics are, but it at least seems that it won't be a loss compared to nature

You can change your flight every six months, so worst case scenario, you switch flights again. I’d say go for light if you’re worried about aesthetics and don’t care for Dominance!

it costs a lot of diamonds after the free one though, which is why i'm so hesitant about this... I think I will, though. I have a day to think about it, at least, bc i need to hatch my last active nest.

As someone who switched flights (Arcane -> Wind -> Arcane), I only went back because I realized I liked the aesthetics of Arcane more in the end. I totally love green-eyed dragons but when I started having more green eyes than pink, I got really sad about it.
And each flight is kind of different in their interactions (the players are all nice but the mood is different everywhere.) You want to make sure you're compatible also.
I would say only do it if you don't think you would grow tired of being in Light.
