Getting the right eye color is a pain sometime. I like accuracy. I cannot stand my avatar dragon having blue eyes since ITS NOT CORRECT

If the perfect colors are staring me in the face, is it really worthwhile to breed two dragons in hopes you get the same colors as one but with usable eyes?

Should we have an item for changing eye colors? Would people hate this? Is it something the devs already said no to?

Just want to know what people would think if something like this were to be implemented (not a suggestion, just a hypothetical)

Edit! I see that the general idea of eye color changing is a resounding no, but what do people think about stuff like the April Fools apparel that covers the eyes and only the eyes?

This has been discussed a lot already! My personal takeaway is that I'd really dislike it. There's almost no utility to Flights other than the eyes, taking that away means it's just a general aesthetic now.

I would not like it. Eye color is one of the main aspects of being in a flight, being able to change it is basically changing a dragons elemental alignment and I think there need to be at least some things about dragons that can't be changed. Otherwise the challenge in the game is gone.

while it's super annoying to hatch a g1 with perfect colors only to see that their eye color looks terrible with the rest of it, I would not want to be able to change dragons' elements. it kinda takes away some of the fun of rng. plus, now that we have pastel eye types I've found it's much easier to work with unmatchy eyes :)

I think this feature would take some fun and challenge out of the game. There's already a lot of workarounds if you really want a specific eye color. The new eye types give good color range within certain colors and if you want a specific flight color for a hatchling, nest rentals are always an option.

since eyes are based on their element, that would be like trying to change elements. and to me that sounds like something that would outright kill a dragon, since their magic is their lifeforce. the god magic isn't going to just want to become another type. i think it would be like ripping out their soul to shove in a replacement one.

i don't think i'd like it if we could change dragon eye color/flight whenever, but i wouldn't mind seeing more eye types that bring in interesting/different colors (kinda like lightning rare)!

i'd also enjoy a site-supported nest lending function, but it's not too hard to make do with the user-supported ones.

I would think its okay but personally would not use it. I am happy with my dragons eye colors

According to official lore you can use other elements, but they'd be incredibly weak. That's probably more applicable to an Ice dragon that trained a water bolt for emergencies though, not removing themselves from their original one entirely.

And I agree with everyone else - now that eye types are all vials and silhouette scrolls are here, it's the last thing you can't change on a dragon aside from ID. Remove that and well, it's just those pony/wolf/etc generators but you need to wait months to get what you want. I'd love easier ways to manage nest rental, but not changing eye element all by yourself.

Adding a item that changed eye colour is lorewise changing the flight of the dragon. It's kind of like how if you're one nationality, you can't just turn into another. The element of a dragon is crucial to it's survival, as if say a egg was relocated, the hatchling would die. I would assume the same thing would happen as a adult.
