TOPIC | What is NotN?
I joined in May I believe so all of these events happening are my first time experiencing it. What is NotN? Is it a really good event? Should I be saving up to buy items? I've seen a lot of talk about eggs for NotN, are you able to buy eggs??

Night of the Nocturne! For two weeks, there are special "mimic" monsters in the coliseum that drop chests that produce a randomized item from a selection of possible items, including event familiars, event apparel, event vistas, and most specially, Nocturne breed change scrolls and Nocturne eggs. :) The Nocturne eggs are generally the items most everyone wants, obviously, because you get free first gen dragons and the fun of hatching them.

You can also brew Strange Chests and other event items in Baldwin's Bubbling Brew, and trade for more Strange Chests at Swipp's using items that drop from the Coliseum during NotN.

It lasts for two weeks and takes the place of having a flight festival in the month of December, since there are only 11 flights and 12 months.

It's a lot of fun, a lot of grinding too. :) Be ready to brew up Strange Chests and get your Coli team in order.

@TryAgainLater It stands for Night of the Nocturne. It's an event similar to flight festivals that runs for 2 weeks at the end of December. New enemies appear in the coli that drop strange chests as well as new Swipp trades and Baldwin recipes. These chests contain various items including apparel, vistas, nocturne scrolls and nocturne eggs. The amount of people grinding in the coli as well as the number of eggs that come from strange chests means that the prices of them tends to drop.
You can see the announcement for last NotN here: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/ann/2796317
Things will be fairly similar with new items released.

From the veiled brambles and branches of the Tangled Wood, the elusive Nocturnes are begin to spread across the realm. These oft-hidden dragons are leaving the comfort of their dreary habitats and traversing Sornieth under the cover of darkness. On this, the shortest day of the year, Nocturne dragons rule the skies.

Night of the Nocturne is the annual celebration of one of Flight Rising's Limited breeds, scrolls for which can only be collected via this in-game event once a year.

It is possible to attain Nocturne Dragons in the following ways:

Finding rare Unhatched Nocturne Eggs.
Finding very rare Breed Change: Nocturne scroll items.

The items above are found in Strange Chests--baffling containers left by the breed during their only two weeks of activity. Nocturnes aren't keen to just shower the realm in gifts, however. Several of these chests have a vicious mind of their own, and some are now known to be under the protection of some new clever and camouflaged foes... In addition, the chests have a limited lifespan, and if they are not opened during the Night of the Nocturne event, they disintegrate into dust.

In order to find these chests, players may use any gathering skill in any elemental region or battle Mimic monsters in the Coliseum during the time the event is active. They can be encountered in all Coliseum areas other than the Training Fields, with higher level mimics having a greater chance to drop a chest. During the event it is also rarely possible to find Unhatched Nocturne Eggs while Scavenging in any elemental region. Baldwin is keen to have new alchemists help him craft the perfect brew to unlock the secrets of strange chests. After two weeks have passed, Nocturnes, their eggs, and their Strange Chests will become scarce until next year, when they again return.
