Or vice versa, couldn't fit it in the title :(
Anyways, why do you prefer FR over similar games like CS, Lioden, Dappervolk, etc? For me, CS is very on and off. There's just a lack of... Things to do on there? I mean, the oekaki/art/adoptable community is big on there (and so is the RP community) but I can't help but feel like half of the active users on CS are active just for kalons and only kalons, lol. I'm exaggerating but it still feels that way.
I tried Lioden and Dappervolk for a little while, but Lioden overwhelmed me with it's surface complexity+crowded interface and Dappervolk felt very empty.
I was also a beta tester for FV, but the community there really pushed me away from enjoying FV to it's fullest. There were just so many people that tested the mods and every other thread had people arguing on it :( The skins system of FV was a mess, too. Ofc, I don't know what it's like now, but I'm sad it's borderline dead. I loved the way the site looked! I wish it could magically revive, even if it had it's flaws.
All these little things always brings me back to FR. The art is beautiful, there's more to do beyond collecting and being in art subcommunities, and the people here are so nice <3 The mods are cool too. Or maybe, there are things about FR that make you prefer other games? I'm curious!

I've only tried CS and I constantly forget about it. There's....nothing to do.
FR brings not just diversity to the dragons and top quality art, but extensive lore and activities. It's the ability to create not just dragons but characters in a fleshed out world that keeps me here. EX. my icon dragon, Lonurayun is my current focus as I get some art done for him and flesh out his backstory. It's always interesting to me to work with canon lore, or find a decent way to get around it and avoid a Plant of Hats scenario.

Nobody wants to tell you why discipline is so important. Discipline is the strongest form of self-love. It is ignoring current pleasures for bigger rewards to come. It's loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you've ever wanted.
i prefer fr because there's such a wide range of customization!! even though there's not a ton of dragon breeds, there's so many combinations you can do to make a dragon unique! sites like cs and dragon cave you can't really do that ^^; they're more collectable based while on fr you can collect dragons that can be vastly different from one another! and you can dress them up!!
another thing that makes me prefer fr over other sites is that it's pretty much always active, there's usually new things to collect/do every week or every 2 weeks, like flameforgers! i stay because i'm always excited to do those things and get new things for my dragons ^_^

I've tried Lioden, and stopped playing for the same reasons you mentioned.
I also joined Dappervolk during beta, and I enjoyed it and am planning on playing some more when it opens again, but I found that there isn't a huge amount to do.
I've tried numerous other similar games as well, and all of them I seem to quit for any combination of the following; too complex, lack of things to do, messy layout, or a poor community.
FR doesn't have any of those problems. The community is wonderful, and the site is neatly laid out and easy to understand with a huge variety of things to do.

:D Yup yup there isn't much to do on CS. It's been a while but we really don't like that lions die on Lioden so we never really got into it. And Dappervolk wasn't fun with all the shops being gatchas and you being locked out of some of them depending on choices you don't realise you're making. The art was pretty though c:
FR has plenty to do, really cool art and it's updated regularly. We love how casual friendly it is and how easy and accessible the premium currency is to get. There are definitely problems and things to improve but overall it's very well made :D

I agree! I really want to write down my dragon's backstories (I have several ideas) while working with the canon lore of FR, but my awful memory always makes me forget lore bits. But I really enjoy that FR offers the lore in the first place, it gives me a platform to build bios off of!

Activity is a big factor in me playing something. Customization is so nice, and even though I'm awful at dressing my dragons
and awful at managing my budget, too I'm glad that FR is always updating with new items :D

dappervolk is kinda i dont know
theres less to do in it ,the shops are pure RNG so you cant get what you want
theres not much customization and theres so little to do in the game
the minigames are better than fr's fairgrounds but thats about it for me
Lioden is too complicated imo,i got lost so easily
the game looks too boring as well,fr has these crazy genes and dragons that arent even dragons anymore and lioden is just
a normal lion,wow
fr is more colorful and eyecatchy, theres so much customization and its easier to play

also what does CS and FV stand for?

I used to play khimeros a lot but honestly if you aren't buying constant custom chrysalids or whatever you might as well not be playing khimeros. The breeding system over there basically requires you to make 2 custom pets or your just making muddy babies that are impossible to sell.
I joined Lioden but quit really fast because it's so complicated and it's just lions really. There's only so much you can do aesthetically with lions.
I joined Flightrising pretty early on and it has offered a consistently engaging experience. It has its ups and down but the community is great, the mods are nice, the site actually listens to community feedback and it has solid lore to boot. It also does something most other pet sites dont in that it doesnt really refer to the dragons as pets. That way you can write bios and create your own lore without having to worry about how you as a human play into it all and thats really neat.

I tried CS, but like said before there is just nothing sustaining there. Theres no overarching lore to allow people to write, the community is mostly based in art or rp which I am Not consistent in, and the dress us relies on my ability to move things properly which is Not At All. Also, I always felt like the forum rules were inforced in almost a rude way? IDK, just didn't feel comfortable there.
I also tried Lioden, but in their efforts to make it more "realisitic" I felt like I had No concepts of how to work the game. The interface wasn't user friendly, breeding was incredibly complex and took forever to even partially learn, and the economy there was... incomprehensible. The auction house (or whatever it was called) was difficult for me to operate, and the events they had felt sort of lack luster. They did have some Really nice art though.
With FR, I find a nice balance. There's enough overarching lore that I can easily branch off with my own writing but not boxing me in too much. The forums are active and have many communities--art, lore, dragon collecting, rp, etc--and Not filled drama most of the time. Also, most if not everything is fairly user friendly and I can figure it out within a few days. Honestly, FR just has the most userfriendliness and variety without losing the art quality. Plus: Dragons.
