@Andraya, no, all for the same reason. The narrow range of secondary genes is what keeps the Songbird breed all looking like a cohesive whole, and gives them the wings which fit with their birdlike characteristics. The only secondary genes in the Songbird subspecies are Butterfly, Bee, and Peregrine.

The ones with Underbelly for their tertiary gene instead of Basic would be able to breed Songbird babies if they were bred to a dragon with the right coloring and who had one of those three secondary genes. The two that have Basic tertiary wouldn't be able to breed Songbird babies no matter whom you bred them to, unfortunately, since Basic is so dominant... it'd always show up in the babies, and it isn't an allowed tertiary in Songbirds.

@VoyagerII (love-love-love the username btw!) I'd like to register one of the Gen 0 of my lineage project as a Songbird - @Wolfandcrow registered my Nymph's daughter as one, which is what caught my attention here! If i'm correct and she qualifies, I can stamp all her new children who qualify with a link to this thread and a bit of lore before they leave my lair :) Also, here's Nymph's other daughter, who I believe also qualifies:

There, they have taken up an ecological niche similar to that of the many local birds, and evolved to become like them. Most Songbirds are Coatl, with occasional Skydancers mixed among them. They are more heavily feathered than typical Coatl or Skydancer dragons, and their bright plumage is always predominately in shades of green. They sing in a language which is based on the Coatl tonal speech, but which also owes a good deal to local birdsong -- a Songbird dragon will be able to understand a normal Coatl, but the normal Coatl might not be able to understand the Songbird if the latter is not making an effort. They live in the tree canopy, in nests instead of lairs. The clan structure remains intact, however; and often several dozen nests are built in a cluster of close-growing trees, where the inhabitants will be able to speak to each other from one nest to another. Skydancer Songbirds feast on the insects and fruit freely available in the tree canopy, while Coatl Songbirds fish in the rivers below. ______ A unique characteristic of this subspecies is that they do not hoard... at least not in a normal sense. They cannot accumulate many objects in the environment where they live, nor do they need much equipment to survive in this kind of Eden. Instead, most young adult Songbirds will begin crafting a single object which will, until its completion, be the subject of all their devotion. They make it as beautiful as they can, altering and editing and adding detail, until their masterwork is as perfect as they are capable of making it. When they judge it complete, they present it to the rest of their clan, which applauds their effort and praises the work lavishly, honoring the work and the maker at a ritual feast. Then they bury it, and the Songbird begins the crafting of a new one. (Buried masterworks are considered salvage, and it's entirely accepted among the subspecies to raid a buried work -- one's own or anyone else's -- for materials one needs to craft one's current project item.) @Crassula, both of the dragons you pictured are definitely Songbirds! Feel free to grab the code from @EmeraldJubilee's post, and put it in their bios and that of whatever offspring they have who also fit the breed standard. Welcome to the Songbird family. :)

@EmeraldJubilee, thank you so much for making us such a beautiful Songbird info page! Or pages, rather, since you even did one for each species that exists in Songbird form. They're lovely!

@VoyagerII awesome!! Since they're part of my lineage project, it'll be a hybrid template, but i will for sure stamp a link back to your subspecies to all those i breed who qualify! Looking forward to working with you :)

I've decided to start breeding songbirds, but I can't find a mate for the one without a perma partner. Does anyone have any males for sale?

@Lightningwind, do you need a Coatl Songbird or a Skydancer Songbird male?

@VoyagerII
Either breed would work, but I'd prefer a skydancer.

@Lightningwind, I've got a Coatl male I'm willing to sell outright, and a Skydancer male whom you probably don't want to buy at his value because he's a Level 25 with Eliminate. ;-) But I'd be willing to mate him to your female and let you keep the babies, which would give you a start in Skydancer Songbirds, if you prefer. Your choice which. Of course, if your female is a Skydancer, you'll get mostly Skydancer babies anyhow no matter which you use. The male Coatl I'd be willing to sell is this guy: He's very much a classic Songbird type. Make me an offer if interested! The male Skydancer I won't sell (or at least, not below his Coliseum value, which is higher than I'd expect you want to pay) but I will breed with you if you'd like, is this fellow:
