TOPIC | How many fingers do the dragons have?
While we have breeds of dragons where the number of fingers is quite clear we also have other breeds where the amount of fingers on both front and back limbs are unclear.

Take for example, Mirrors, in their baby art Mirrors appear to have three fingers and a thumb. Then when they grow up into adult females, they appear to have four fingers and a thumb on both front and back limbs. But when they grow up male they appear to have three fingers and a thumb on both front and back limbs.

Then there are Nocturnes, which appears to only have three fingers as a male adult, but can be seen with two as a child or female adult.

Please help, I need to know for art!

Well, depending on the angle some digits would not always be visible, so I'd go with the larger number of digits in those breeds. Like I'm pretty sure Mirrors have 4 toes and a thumb on their forefeet but only 4 toes on the back feet, you just can't tell due to the angle they are at.

However if you want to be really concerned look at Skydancer feet. It seems like they grow a new toe when they reach adulthood.

Oh Lords, I forgot about the skydancers. Probably because I don't have many in my lair, but you are totally right. Honestly I think it is highly curious that there is this appeared difference in finger numbers between the arts of the dragons.

Nocturnes i think have three, in the hatchling art the 3rd finger (which is probably a thumb) is just behind the other 2
i think most others have 4? 3 fingers and a thumb, at least for the front legs.

(can you imagine getting scrolled into a noct and suddenly having to deal with having less fingers)

@PingPongCat

It most be very hard to get used to having less fingers at first lol.

I just like to over think the anatomy of a creature and how they look often times, you're right though, the answer to the missing and suddenly appearing fingers is probably due to perspective. But it's still fun to wonder about.
