For me it varies from dragon to dragon:
- Some already had a good enough name when I bought them
- For others I hit "randomize" until I found a good name
- Every now and then I'll get my random names from behindthename.com
- A select few I named myself (Riley and Riley are the only two I can think of right now)
- Some are named because of their lore. Some examples: Shade (who was corrupted by the shade as a hatchling and thus never really developed as an individual who'd want or need a name), Zrknwr and IiIRrdv (both are gods from another world, and their names can't really be pronounced on Sornieth)
- AppleOcean, BurnedFeather and FallenProphecy are all random names strung together by the same google spreadsheet I use to name my fodder and fodder breeders. Some highlights of this generator include EggPlant, SerialKiller and SilverFerret. Usually it's more along the lines of TouchingContest, NeatPlague or SingingSpear though

Honestly? I try to buy prenamed dragons because I'm awful with naming.

sometimes the dragon's appearance gives me inspiration, or i already had something in mind when buying the dragon, but a lot of the time i just flip through random names looking for names/name bits i like, and then i play around with them in my head until i'm satisfied ;P

I either use this latin dictionary or I randomize names until I get something decent and then swap letters around.

Then theres the dragons who are representatives of other non-FR characters... same thing. Or! Find out what your dragons overall 'theme' is (Ex. Fire, Darkness, Courage) and type in "Names meaning (chosen adjective)". These bring up interesting results sometimes.
