save it till you end up with a ton of treasure and can buy almost anything, then feel good about how you can buy a lot of stuff, then feel sad once you spend it all

You could save it (never know when the next genes or apparel will come out!) or you could treat yourself with a pretty, expensive dragon, I mean, you still have plenty of space and lair expansions aren't that expensive for you yet ;) You could also buy some apparel with it!
