I actually think gembond can be beautiful! However, it can look TERRIBLE if its not the right colors. I think it works pretty well on my WC Levi.
I personally think that Daub, Facet, Crystal, Crackle, Smoke, Speckle, Hypnotic, Freckle, and Circuit can look bad. Which is a large list, I know, and there are exceptions, but nothing will ever make me like CRACKLE. I kind of feel (especially when it is pink) it kind of looks like popped bubble gum.
(Of course I mean no offense to those of you who like any of those <3)

Gembond is actually my fave…aside from iri and shim. I also like Eyespots and Tiger though not many people do XD Clown and Crackle are the worst, tho…

Gembond to me, most of the time, looks like weird growths or tumors >.< I really don't like it, also crackle is wayyyy too busy for me. If I'm honest... I'm not a fan of most genes just as is, they can look good on certain dragons but there are only a few I like on pretty much every dragon all the time. Hypnotic is just ehh, and okapi is hard to work with if we're honest. Iri/shim can be problematic as they tend to bring weird colors into perfectly good ones, like yellows into white and greenishness into silver. I have the same issue with cry/face having the random spots of color- it's annoying. But, hey, that's just picky me X3

Gembond is a pretty situational gene. It can work really well if pulled off right, but it's hard to find the right dragon to wear it. And honestly, this is at least partially true for all terts (except maybe Spines), which is why I have a lot of dergs with basic tertiaries. As for primaries and secondaries, Crystal and Facet are usually too busy for my tastes (unless Stained is used), but my least favorite is probably Clown. It's messy and chaotic, and with the addition of Cherub, I can't really see a purpose for it.

So hopefully that'll be cleared up. :)
