BroGrimm777 you can convert gems into treasure through other players! People buy and sell gems with treasure. Right now I think the treasure to gem ratio is 1g for 500t.

Closer to 660-680, but yeah, you can trade treasure/gems with other people on the Items For Sale forum! Soon we'll have secure trading, too, so you won't have to worry about someone ripping you off (although the majority of sellers are trustworthy people now anyway).

The rate should be something dictated by supply and demand

No one will ever go for a fixed, official, scam-proof way to convert gems to treasure and vice versa because then it means they wouldn't be able to gouge people for all they're worth anymore, and that would be terrible.

The conversion rate is usually similar backwards and forwards. If the price is listed as 1:670 then you can purchase 1 gem for 670 treasure. However if you had the Gems and wanted to convert them to treasure you would set the rate, If you set it at 1:670 then you would get 670 treasure for each gem you sold.
In the Items for Sales forum the prices are somewhat competitive though often very close to teach other.
The main reason they do not have a set rate and that they allow the players to set the rate is because if there was a set rate then players may not be so willing to spend real money to get Gems to sell. Instead most players would just purchase the gems with treasure but there would be less sellers with a static price. Supply and demand kind of dictates the going rate.
