Hello!
Not much in the Encyclopedia is really given about what kinds of noises Sornieth's dragons make. Do they speak with their mouths and use their vocal chords, or do they speak to each other via telepathy?
We know Fae are fairly monotonous in their speech and that Coatl dragons do not have eardrums and have a hard time understanding the Fae. But not much has been written about dragon vocalization or how they communicate with each other exactly.
I always figured that Mirrors scream and chirp/chatter at each other, much like this Emperor Penguin does:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Haxy5PvCuk (0:13 - safe for work)
Wildclaws are mostly silent and make shrill screaming/shrieking sounds.
What do you think? What have you made up? How do your FR characters communicate, and what else do you think happens?

I would imagine Imperials make loud and deep hums. Kind of like whale noises.

I have this head canon that coatls hum classical music to show their emotions...
"Coatl are one of the few species to have a native tongue. They hum a series of different pitches at varying intervals to communicate. The result is far from lovely to other dragon species, as sour notes and incomprehensible melody grates on their senses. Coatl can speak and interpret traditional draconic with difficulty, but have no capacity to understand the monotone fae species." -
The encyclopedia info
"A wild coatl aggressively hums Beethoven's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. It appears to be rather upset."

I always imagined Mirrors as being very hyena like, so I always imagined their miscellaneous sounds being similar to a spotted hyena. A lot of cackling, whooping, growling, yipping. That sort of thing.

I've always imagined Tundras to make a high pitched chirp.

Lusitania - I can totally see that too.... eee! Such a royal/magnificent dragon would make a beautiful melodious and mysterious sound.

Imperials make low bellows and whale moans
Guardians sound like traditional dragons, lion and elephant like roars
Mirrors sound like coyotes or hyenas
Spirals sound twitter and coo like some owls, chatter like bats
Skydancers for some reason look like they'd sound like the Thestrals from Harry Potter
Snappers sound like buffalos
Ridgebacks look like they'd sound more reptillian, like crocodiles and alligator hisses and roars
Can't think of an animal sound for the pearlcatchers.....

Pearlcatchers sing :) I think they probably have very musical voices!

I tend to hear Tundras as sounding like
Big the Cat.
Mirrors I imagine sounding like Ridley - high-pitched, shrieking when they're being loud. They especially sound like
Neo Ridley from Fusion.
No headcanons for the rest yet!

I watched a lot of dragon documentaries when I was younger, and I like to imagine wildclaws making the loud screechy noises of various raptors. Mirrors bark, growl, and snarl really deeply. Imps bark, too, but whereas mirrors bark sharply and without a lot of fading sound, imps sound more like a rottweiler. Snappers make these low rumbly sounds that sound like clashing rocks in the back of their throats. Spirals chatter and yip, like a weird mix of birds and hyenas. They also shriek really, really loudly when excited or startled. Skydancers chirp like rodents and scream like cougars. That's about all I have in terms of noise headcanons XD
And then, because I like to make things difficult for myself, I have a separate set of headcanons for the idea that they all speak the same language, just with different accents.
