So I have been trying to breed a Crimson/Crimson/Obsidian dragon for quite some time now. Not only do I adore the color combo, it's loosely based on one of my OC's. I got a breeding pair with a nice tight range and thought that I would have my lovely dragon within a few weeks.

The first clutch was born Apr 10, 2014. They have had 19 hatchlings since then and I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CRIMSON/CRIMSON/OBSIDIAN. AUGH. I know it's not a terribly long time, but it feels like I've been waiting forever.

I had a Spiral/PC pair that had a 25% chance (1/4) of getting me what I wanted - a Teal Iri / Carib Shim female Pearlcatcher.
Primary/Secondary were guaranteed to be that, with the species/gender being the only wild card.
Took me four nests to get one female PC (who is now my avatar) so I feel your pain. XD

There was ONE Crimson/Crimson/Obs that was female, and I should have kept her and found someone with better odds, but I was so angry that I just outright exalted her. XD If they haven't made it by the fire festival, I'm just gonna send 'em to Flamemomma. Ain't nobody got time for this.

I've been working on rose/rose/white for over SIX MONTHS. I know it's a common color combo, I just wanted to save treasure by breeding the breed/genes I want but aaaaargh.
Breeding an obsidian/fire/maize imp took nearly as long, but I finally got him in the end. >3

And I just checked your odds and... yikes. Factor in gender along with colors and you're looking at a 1/24 chance of getting exactly what you want.
There's a Crim/Crim/Obs male Guardian on the AH for 200 Gems, if you're willing to spend that much instead of breeding more?

SystemError The great and powerful RNG is the Random Number Generator. It's fancy game terms for "PROBABILITY AND MATH ARE HAPPENING HERE". I picked it up from lots of tabletop-ing, stopped using the term for a while, and then started using it again because I caught @
benalene (who is magical hiiii yes i brought you up in conversation just to ping you and say hi) using it.

WhoDoVoodoo My last pair had a 25% chance of giving me what I wanted but they gave me ELEVEN FAIL BABIES instead. I replaced the male out of spite, but they're skydancers and I have to wait 25 days between breedings ughhhh
