TOPIC | Dragon Roars? What would they be like?
Well for my clan headcannons!

Mirrors make chattering noises, and purr and hiss like cats.

Tundras pant like dogs and growl when angered, but don't necessarily roar.

Coatls hiss and make low-rumbling noises. Like a snoring corgi or fat cat.

Imperials roar. Full-blown, like a lion.

Ridgebacks Roar(Imagine Kaiju Roars from Pacific Rim) and rattle their spines.

Faes are silent except maybe lizard-like hissing and squeaking.

For Wildclaws, imagine the velociraptors from Jurassic Park.

Faes can make a low ululation that scares the crap out of anyone who hasn't heard it before, Guardians growl and snap and hiss and stamp, Spirals just zip maniacally around the object of their discomfort, Ridgebacks click their talons and teeth together, Snappers bellow like elephants, Pearlcatchers are Far Too Sophisticated for roaring but can occasionally make hyena rasps, Wildclaws make a high-pitched roar, Coatls make sounds very similar to Guardians (except a lot smaller obviously) which leads to a lot of jokes, and Tundras have the most impressive roar of all.

@Heartmane hhhhhhhhhh tundra's with a mighty roar, headcanon accepted. A tigers roar, yes good.

Ridgebacks would bellow.
Guardians I can imagine trumpeting.
Mirrors have cackling hyena snarls and wolf like howls.
Coatl's hiss and titter
Skydancer's would caw and chirp
Spiral's sound like about 100 birds all chattering at once.
Fae's may have the occasional hiss
Pearlcatchers SCREECH when startled or mad.
Imp's in my opinion would sound like whale singing, i dunno i just like that idea.

I imagine fae roars to be something along the lines of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLTZctTG6cE

Spirals? the sound a pinwheel makes when it spins too fast: PWEEEEEEEEEE

Weirdly, I think PCs would make otherworldly dolphin noises as they dipped and rose in the sky

Skydancers have a long throat and wide chest, I think they would be REALLY LOUD. *Thinks of awful bird screeching*

The roar-depending-on-the-element idea is awesome. Headcanon accepted! Like the 'accents' for a singular language.. ;u;
.. Long post ahead!

Faes
Maybe a squeakish screech? I could also think of them making 'bubble'-noises before they 'roar', kind of like a growl. mblrblrblrmblr-SCQUEAAAAAA

Mirrors
Hyena cackles for sure! Maybe mixed with a jackal..yowl? Something like that.

Guardians
A lion/tiger roar mix.. or something. Not as ‘cut off’ as a lions but not as rumbeling as a tigers.. you get what I mean?

Tundras
A dog that’s out of breath. The roar sounds like a bark, but is a bit.. ‘hissed’.

Pearlcatchers
A very, very angry cat. Probably not as screeching though.. a bit ‘softer’.

Ridgebacks
Godzilla.

Snappers
A frog-esque loud grumble. Like rolling stones.

Spirals
A flock of angry budgies.

Skydancers
skrieeeeeee

Imperals
A loon-ish, deepthroated hum. it's so peaceful it's almost scary.

Wildclaws
Cross between an eagles' cry and a raptors' cirrrrr[/] sound.

Coatls
A snake-like hiss followed by a loud, scratching yowl. A snake kitty.

I think I'd envision them like this:

Faes -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d921M-ACMM4
Skip ahead a bit. It's the sound a Dilophosaurus makes. A sweet coo normally but like a hissing sound when angry.

Guardians -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz4UO9CS8SM
That whole video in a nutshell. Maybe not too exact but very similar. I feel like they wouldn't make that huge roaring sound unless provoked / attacking though. But they'd have a dialect of grunts and low toned clicking. But mostly body language.

Mirror -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7n3TFDF-mo
Hissing, cat like screeches, and clicking.

Pearlcatchers -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVZCAQP6eQM
Something along the lines of this. Possibly even a little deeper.

Ridgebacks -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCxDx43t3NM
Nothing much to add here.

Tundra -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkFx45lxlvA
I didn't really know for this one but maybe a tigers roar with like little high pitched coos at the end. Since they're super cute.

Spirals
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDmRmRb2OpE
A distressed Barn Owl. But I think they'd also make short yipping sounds.

Imperials -
I couldn't find a video to describe the sound. But definitely a low hum. I also feel that they would be able to speak like us humans do. But in many different languages.

I know males would sound like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXkEGU7bJzA

Snapper -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDJJmu8E774
Triceratops. They make the perfect sounds. Just heavy breathing and grunting.

Wildclaws -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cCJOYn7e0w
I see them as pure Velociraptors. Possibly make cooing sounds when around things / others they care about.

Coatls -
A snake hiss along with:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXNQyvMSOFM
A doves coo.

Skydancers -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA5yGyB_z5U
Vulture sounds? Not really sure with this one.
