Magic hesitated, fluttering her wings. She had a weird feeling about those dragons. Why had they wanted her to stay silent?

"I shouldn't follow them," she said to thin air, watching the dragons fly further and further away from her. "But I certainly can't just fly up to them and ask, can I? It doesn't seem like they'd want to tell me anything."

She forced herself to turn away. "I'd better not meddle with whatever they're doing. I don't think they'd be happy with me."

Magic flew away, but not before glancing back at the two dragons, who were only mere specks in the distance.

If anything, trouble had run into her. As her clan's Arcane Representative, Winterflower was responsible for escorting all the Exalts her clan trained to Arcane to assist with their push for dominance. She had just been returning from the Observatory when she was suddenly attacked by...a giant germ? That was the only way Winterflower could describe it. Winterflower had seen microbes before, but only under a microscope, as normally germs were too tiny to see with the naked eye. What was even stranger though, was the mysterious Nocturne. How was she able to subdue the giant germ so quickly? Why did she ask for many questions and then demand secrecy? And where were she and her Pearlcatcher companion taking the germ to? Winterflower knew that she needed to be heading home - she had to return to her clan before the next wave of Exalts were ready to travel. But she just couldn't shake off her curiosity. She flew after the two dragons, tailing them from a good distance away just in case.

Aurora stood blinking in the clearing, confused. She had so many questions, even more than when the strange germ had first appeared in front of her. Who had the nocturnes been? What was the AAIP? What had they injected into the creature? What had they done to her to make her so fuzzy-brained that she couldn't remember a single answer she'd given? And how dare they leave before answering any of her questions!? She's the one who found the creature! Aurora knew the wisest course of action would be to turn around, and head straight back to the Lightweaver's lands. Check in with her clan's seer, and maybe see if she could shed any light on the strange experience. What she shouldn't do, is turn to look back at the receding figures, their mysterious charge between them. She should certainly not gather Sergeant Snips into her arms, and she definitely shouldn't follow them, a discreet distance away. But Aurora was, as usual, more curious, and more impetuous, than wise. So she did just that. AAIP? The name wasn't familiar, even after months of flying the courier routes, collecting gossip from clans all across the west. And to not recognize a scholarly organization -- if they were even scholarly at all -- at the Focal Point, her own territory? The idea was ridiculous. She had only just left the lair, and her satchels were still stuffed full of correspondence for ally clans. If either of the guards happened to notice a tiny Fae trailing them, she could always plead innocence and claim to be headed for a lair further down the cliffs. Of course, they would have to notice her first.

Actually, the being attacked part was nothing new. Lots of strange and dangerous creatures lived everywhere. Especially in the Starfall Isles. Those dragons, on the other hand... Having lived in Arcane all her life, Drav was pretty sure she would have heard of this AAIP before. She tended to hear things on her message routes, and her clan usually had a good idea of what was going on in (and around) the Starfall Isles. Like a meteor. And strange monsters. So, this organization is either new, or top secret. Or maybe something else? Drav was presented with a mystery, and like any self-respecting arcane dragon presented with a mystery, she had to know what was going on. They did not really seem the type to answer questions, though, considering how quickly they came and left. She could always follow them. Drav was a fan of hiding, as many nocturnes are. And if she got caught? Well. She could make something up. And so Drav, head of her clan's Scouting and Recon division, was on the case...

@LuminousNoble I am so excited for this! I've also added Stellei to my signature. She couldn't risk getting involved in another conspiracy. She couldn't risk putting herself- or worse, her mate- in more danger. But if this was a conspiracy, if this organization had some sort of sinister plan- well, what if it came back to haunt her? What if this group had secrets that could put Sornieth in danger? She sighed. Quickly, she whispered a spell that would send a message back to the Paradox dragons if she died. Then, she skulked off after the two mysterious dragons.
