darklordavy - Baked Salmon with Heirloom Tomato and Feta over Sauteed Spinach
So, I will start of being very honest. I can’t stand cooked fish. There’s something about the texture and the way the taste changes that I just… can’t. (Also tomatoes but the opposite. They have to be fairly thoroughly cooked. I can be quite picky because some tastes just overwhelm all others for me.) I love the other ingredients though.
This looks quite beautiful and fresh though. It makes me want to actually try it, which is an accomplishment in and of itself ^^;

Vedis - Deluxe Tempest Spire Cupcakes
First, I just want to congratulate you on tackling these when you’ve never baked before. I know a lot of people who haven’t baked find it really intimidating, so just going for it is great. You chose such a fun set of recipes to start out with too and your mix of flavors were all great choices! Plus, you decided to go for it with
fondant on your first go-around. You did a great job and how you bounced back from issues (as I saw etc. on skype) is admirable.
It’s not even remotely fair how cute these are and the idea to use the cotton candy was great!

Snek – Daily Report Dessert
So, it’s not super often that I see someone actually use shortening these days. I’m curious if you notice any differences between it and butter when you make frosting? Also, is the meringue powder for gloss, or some stiffness, or? (I’m just very curious as I don’t do decorations with frosting very often myself xD)
But this was such a cute and great idea for the Lightning Theme. It came out so well too. I have shaky hands (familial tremor) so this sort of thing is not my forte.

Quib - Gelatin Flowers and Stormy Night Gelatin Dessert
I saw coffee in this and was IMMEDIATELY on board. Put coffee in something and I will try it and probably enjoy it in some way.
These are just SO COOL looking. I really want to try doing this now (and probably massively fail at it lol.) Actually… I really want to try this as like… a topping on top of a multi-layer cake (like you would with a gelee.) I bet it would just be so great looking with the flowers!
I bet my suitemate would love the grape flavor too (she loves grape flavor almost anything.) Must try.

cmf25 - Land of the Stormcatcher
I LOVE Cupcakes and Cardio. I just love their videos, they’re SO HELPFUL. I actually used to make chocolate ganache on the stove (it was kind of a pain) until I watched one of their torte videos (I believe.) They just heated the cream in the microwave, dumped the chocolate etc. in and MAGIC. Legitimately changed my life as it made ganache so much less of a task and now I just put it on everything.
- Coughs – now that I’ve stopped flailing >.> Definite kudos for using buttercream for decorations. I’m just SO bad at it and yours turned out cool looking. Also, did it take a ton of dye to get that grey (and the black?)

Scultone - Thunderbolt Tumbleweeds [AKA Rocky Road Popcorn Balls]
I love popcorn… and marshmallows… and peanuts… and chocolate. So basically these sound amazing. I want some right now (even though it’s like 6am and I’ve not slept.)
I need to go make these ASAP.

Eialyne - Shocking Summer Sours
Primarily-lemon anything and I am totally down. (I should make some lemon sorbet soon…) I bet it tastes quite refreshing and looks so cute to serve.
It’s interesting that just going back and forth with a whisk, by hand, worked a lot better. I wonder why that is, hm. I wonder if it’s a personal thing as I know circular always works faster for me. It could be down to the technique and the ease at which the motion comes to a person individually though. As the back and forth may go faster for a person that circular.
