Quasar
Species: Skydancer
Gender: Female
Stardust
When news of the ball reached her ears, Quasar knew attending was a must. Her grief had consumed her far beyond the count of time. She had become a prisoner of her own making, and freedom could wait no loner. In her sorrow, she had forgotten things of a material nature. Before her empty shelves she stood; naught but rags and dust upon the wood did lay. Head hung low and tears collecting, she whispered a prayer to the heavens. The Spirits heard her lamenting and wept for her pain. Unable to bear the strength of Quasar's grief any longer, the Spirits descended. Six there were, and six did cast, a beautiful enchantment to lift her curse. From the rags that lay upon her shelves, silk of ethereal from the purest part of night was fashioned. Though beautiful they were, the Spirits labored on. Singing haunting spells in tongues long lost, they took the stars and made them dust. Cast upon the silk of night, the Spirits proclaimed their work now done. Quasar hardly recognized the dragon in the mirror before her. All the pain and sorrow had washed away, the element of hope only remained. Lifting herself up high, she smiled. The Spirits danced about her head, laughing and singing songs of a heavenly nature.
To the ball she went that very night. Excitement filled the air with a palatable presence. So many were there, and all in their best attire. She walked about the ballroom, reciprocating any greetings sent her way. Her gaze drifted across the sea of dragons before coming to a stop in his icy eyes. A warmth suddenly radiated through her very soul. A single word forming on her tongue, nay, not a word but a name.... Pulsar

Fire, passion, heat.
All of these I represent.
Harmful yet helpful.
Am I evil...? No...
Just misunderstood, you see...
Please...just listen...
A defiled rep...
Not everything I touch burns.
For I'm not alone.
Someone does love me.
She has lit a fire in me...
One that can not die.
My Ceres, My love...
I share you with another...
But I am still yours.
With you by my side.
My life is a treasure trove.
Yours for the taking.
So I ask you this...
Will you accompany me...
To the end of time?

Dragon Name: Minthe

Story or Poem:
"Dress to impress"
"Show off your wings"
"Make an impression"
"They'll love you"
The blue sheen of the mask made it hard to believe he was anything but silly looking, but the flower held in his teeth proved... something. Honestly, he didn't know what. His friends had helped him "dress to impress" and he had barely managed to keep his wings free of the ordeal. The cape lay heavy over him, and fabric was wrapped around his limbs and...
Why?
Minthe was never the kind of dragon to go to anything, and certainly never to wear anything that wasn't armor. Now he was wearing a silly hat, a silly mask, a silly cape, and just felt silly. This was silly. At least his companion didn't think he was silly, but maybe it was because he was finally wearing blue.

Imperial
Gender:

Story or Poem:
In the wintry month of December
Near the longest night of the year
There comes a mysterious dragon
So say the elders, if you hear
Hailing from the Southern Icefield
She brings ice, cold wind and snow
Freezes the lakes, covers the earth
Trust me, this I know
Lady of Ice, some may call her
For she lives in a crystal cave
Frozen chandeliers, icy mirrors
Only seen by those most brave
And so come the traditional gifts
Given to her on the Solstice Eve
Buy her favor with silks and diamonds!
Beg her to grant us a reprieve

Story or Poem:
(Love poem to Lady Diamond from her mate Carbon retelling there first meeting)
Debutante of deepest night,
your wings of moonlight glow.
A thousand jewels upon your skin,
flash as your supple movements flow.
The music begins to sway you,
you move out of the crowd.
Melody compelling you,
crystal voice sings aloud.
You dance across the marble,
feathers whiter than the snow,
whisper on the polished floor.
Your movement graceful, elegant, and slow.
My eyes have locked upon,
this angel of dark beauty fair.
And should I win your love,
from this night
no other light,
should grace my humble lair.

Story or Poem: What more is there to say?
For you, I'd give my life
I'd give my light and day
I'd give everything away.
I'd turn my back on everything
If it was meant for you.
I'd follow a darker king
If it was only just for you.
If it was for your sake
I would turn on all I know.
What a traitor I would make
Because my heart would not let go.
If it was for you, love,
I'd turn on Heaven above.

Midnight Princess
The moon’s at its peak
Mid-summer is nigh
A fairy’s fair wink
Is given to I.
You beckon to me
With eyes aglow
I’ll follow you anywhere
Our wings may go
So, take my hand dear
As we dance through the night
And reminisce with me
On our star lit flight
My Midnight Princess
How the moon lights the sky
The wind whips your Silk dress,
A dark, sleek Disguise
Too soon the night breaks
And the sun starts to rise,
So ill end the night dear
with a sweet kiss goodbye
The moon’s at its peak
Mid-summer is nigh

A lone tundra scrabbled through the snows of a mountain in the southern icefields. Stopping every now and again to dig around in the snow before heading further down the slope.
“I know they're here somewhere, I know they should be on these slopes, - somewhere” The male muttered to himself.
He had been with the clan for a long time before she arrived, a proud bachelor content in the company of none but his familiar.
But one look and she stole his heart.
Towering grace and beauty, pride radiating from her very being. Her gaze silently judging those around her. She spoke to no one, least of all Caesar.
So now here he was, trudging, hopping, digging and occasionally rolling down the mountain in search of a single precious rose.
Giving a lady a flower was gentlemanly, but he had to go the extra length and find the rarest flower in the region, nothing less would do for a true gentleman...
At the dawn of the third day of his tireless search he found one wilted bush. Dejected he lay next to it, and let the fatigue set in. He dreamt of his love, the one just out of his grasp, grace and beauty worth dying for. And all he wanted was a chance to know her.
He woke to find himself alone, on the hills, next to a dead rosebush.
He looked in the direction of the sun, midday already. He glanced at the bush, pondering if eating the thorny remains would be worth it. He deserved nothing less in his mind, and he had forgotten to eat ever since he set off from the lair.
He took a bite out of it, wincing a little as he chewed on the thorns, wondering what he should do next. The only other vegetation around was moss and shrubbery, nothing that would stand a chance to woo any dragon, even a hungry tundra.
Then he noticed, out of the corner of his eye, a single pink rose surviving, in the middle of the bush!
He stared for a moment, then spat out the thorny mess and carefully set to extract his prize with trembling paws.
*****
He had a bath, brushed his fur, checked his breath and put on fresh duds. After carefully inspecting his attire and making sure everything was perfect he topped it off with the precious flower, and set out to find Regina.
When he did, he boldly waltzed out in front of her, bowed deeply and spoke: “My fair lady, I am a great admirer of your person and have a humble request.”
Regina regarded him with burning red eyes.
Caesar presented the rose with an outstretched paw, the other on his chest. “Please, my lady, will you accompany me on a simple walk? I would love nothing more than a single chance to watch the beautiful sunset next to you.”
After a few moments of intense gazing the guardian female lifted a paw and took the flower. “I was heading out on a walk anyways,” She rumbled; “I suppose I wouldn't mind you tagging along... This once.”
Exhilarated, Caesar accompanied Regina out of the lair, the pair of them silently enjoying the walk and taking in the scenery, although he could not see anything other than her the entire evening.
Not another word was said that night, for none were needed.

Contests, games, and the introduction of a new familiar!
Come show that your lair is smart, witty,
and a bright example of all the best qualities
that the Lightweaver represents!
It will be 22 - 28 June.
As the Lair Matron, she was responsible for representing the lair. In addition, she was presenting one of the challenges: a neat word scramble involving a week of clues. How does one stay dignified for a week? she wondered. Very carefully!
With all this going on, it was going to be hard to train her newest familiar: the tourmaline vulstal. Although no-one had reported ever hearing one utter a sound, Icerose was fairly confident she could train it to sing. The question was going to be, though, was the singing going to be in a range only faes could hear?
IceRose grinned, patted the vulstal, and loaded up. It was going to be a busy week. Just the way she liked it!

Cristina
Species: Skydancer
Gender: Female
Story:
Music danced in the air. It wove in and out of the feet that never touched the stone for more than a second. Laughter and merriment rose to kiss the moon while rose petals fell to caress the earth.
She was beautiful.
All in red, her silks catching the slight breeze and her cape wrapping around her movements, it took his breath away, and she knew it. She knew he was watching her from above. As she twirled she could just catch a glimpse of him without giving herself away. He was perched near her guardian, Shadow, still as ever; a living statue. He was set with the task of watching over and keeping her safe by her mate, as if she needed such a thing. But she grew attached to her little Shadow over time. She knew it made her mate feel better when he was away, at least.
With her next spin she saw her mate was gone, just as silently as he had arrived. She stopped dancing then. She missed his touch and his smell. If he was not watching, why dance?
Walking over to get a drink, Cristina looked across the ocean at the reflection of the moon. She was lost in thought when a gentle brush of a feather went across her cheek.
"Did you think I would not want to dance with an Angel on a night like this? In this merriment? Come, my Love, let us make the moon jealous with the way we shine together."
They danced that night, under the twinkling stars. The others around them stopped for a moment to watch. True love like theirs was as beautiful as it was rare.
