one question- when you say "Once they are free whoever pings first with the request gets the dragon." do you mean request here (ping) or just directly send you a cr with the request written in the message?

I mean ping here to request the dragon. That way everyone can see that the dragon has been requested and not ask again. In theory at least, i get asked for the dragons that are no longer in my lair all the time.
I'll add you to any coatl pinglists then. There's at least 2 nesting already :)

If you go to the first page of the hatchery and check the list of available dragons, the first 2 tundras are still available.
