If you do exalt him, be aware you won't get a payout! (Unless they've changed things in the 10+ years since I exalted my random.
I do think he's quite salvageable though:

unexalt your progenitors once every three days so if you don't like your progenitor you could always exalt to save space and then unexalt if/when you feel in the mood to do something to him.
Edit: I would like to note that you don't get any treasure from exalting your progenitors.

If you decide you don't want him now and you want to have him back in the future, maybe to scatter him if you aren't a fan of his colors, it is safe to exalt him. Progens are the only dragons that can be restored no matter how much time has passed since they were exalted. I exalt mine regularly just to restore and scatter him and exalt him again, to save on lair space :)

I think you could definitely do something fun with these colors! You could also do what I did with my random progen and find a fullbody skin to cover them up as well.

I tried to find scries that would accentuate the contrast between the colors. The final one is a bit pricey, but Purple harlequin definetly matches the sunshine secondary if you want to go more low-key.

If you miss him you can restore him after 4 days.
Many people bring back their progens after exalting them, sometimes they'll gene em up or scatter their colors with a tri-scatter scroll. But those are a lil pricey. So some folks wait until they have predictable ways of making money before scattering or working on their progens.
I also think he's super cute!

I think the colors are fun! I like the scries on here. I find changing the type of dragon can be helpful.

Esp early game, since you have such limited lair space I'd just exalt him for now for +1 space. You could also just throw him in hibden.
