@Azurenight This year was a quiet one for the Ice Flight Representatives due to one main reason... more movie filming! Izanami, the former leader of the group Luxury Sunset and soloist, had just wrapped up filming for a post apocalyptic movie with a similar storyline of The Day the Earth Stood Still, finally having time to visit the Lore Event. In the new movie, which currently have no title, she plays as a character who lived in the outside world since before the incident. Throughout the years, she had gained an immunity to the cold and ice, becoming one with it and being given the title of 'Hailstone Goddess' thanks to the ice crystals decorating her body that look like giant pellets of hail. She smiled as she found Casey deep in her notes, chuckling and shaking her head as she looked to her companion Murus, who suddenly seemed more reserved than he was when they were getting ready. "Yes, this is the one. It's been a long time no see, Casey! How's your father?" She asked, sitting down with her icy Coatl friend, who was just quietly watching the two, fiddling with one of the chains hanging from his wings. "Please don't mind Murus, he's being shy today. Last year your father was the one to hold the event, and I think he's nervous being in front of such a pretty Wildclaw~," Izanami teased playfully, earning a small nudge from the Coatl, but he didn't deny it and just went back to fiddling with the chain. If Crystalline Gala was among the festivals you posted for last time around, you've probably already seen this first fella--I don't have many Ice-oriented dragons, sadly D: Quilo is my super grumpy winter sprite! Sadly, all my seasonal sprites are dying, and will be inactive as soon as the hibernal den is released (I can't bring myself to exalt them) so he won't be an active part of my lair before long :( I have to find him an apprentice to take his spot on the council, should be fun? He has some ancient lore in his bio xD And his mate, Lunette! Well, cyborg, but she's mostly robotic. I was kind of undecided on which direction I wanted to go in for her lore, but with this festival's funky apparel item, I definitely want to tie her element in more. I have some fun ideas, but for now, she's just got introductory lore in her bio. And then we have sweet, darling Arcelia. I haven't made progress on her lore since you ended up finding her in the Earth Wyrm Lore thread a couple months back, but I figured I'd post her anyhow. I'm kinda stumped on her story--I have the idea, but something's missing, so I haven't had the motivation to write it. Kinda like Keanu's lore, though I actually did get his finished recently and I'm working on a new piece for him :) I love the Ice flight's lore, especially with the bits and pieces we got from BotE, but I haven't found a dragon that inspires me to write for it yet, sadly :( I have a trio of dragons that could potentially have Ice-related lore, but then I think a lack of element / some kind of Shade or void "element" would suit them better, too... >:c

@Zuron Shira's a pretty boi if I do say so myself! I haven't quite had the years to make a dragon like that yet, but I might be able to get there. So many of your outfits are impressive and she's no different! So, was Arnskar intending for Shira to change the weather so dramatically or was he more thinking that she would be able to keep an area cool for others to chill in until the heat wave passed? At least Shira provided some relief though! :D ------------ Double Edit: I just realized I could write to this an actual greeting maybe!
Winter in the Scarred Wasteland is about the safest time of the year for those seeking to walk about without fear. Many individuals and groups have gathered in this little area of frozen ground to exchange whatever they could from food to stories. Mari and Moriset, who sits upon Mari's back, trek between several stands as they look about. It wasn't often they could wander, but today was a day of festivities for Ice dragons across the world, and they both had some time to spare. Mari, spotting a particularly interesting stand near a dragon made from snow, was curious about the entire situation. Meandering towards the little Wildclaw that ran the booth, Mari listened to the Wildclaw conversing. "She's asking questions of them," Mari spoke to the dwarven Pearlcatcher on her back. Moriset, quick to hear Mari's large voice craned to see the object of Mari's mention. Moriset couldn't say that he wasn't interested. He was a dragon of information too. Though he had mostly come to stretch his legs and to find any new medical information he could among the travelers. Responding to his mode of locomotion, the Alchemist spoke curiously, "We should take the opportunity," As Mari and Moriset neared the now vacated stand, Mari bowed her head politely, and Moriset tipped his head in greeting. It would take some time to answer whatever questions the stranger had, but the two Ice dragons had it. She's a servant to one of my clan's captains, Brennus. She tends to his needs when he isn't too stubborn about doing it himself. Not every servant ends up working for a fair patron, but Brennus treats her well. Mari herself acts as a personal doctor for Brennus, which is a rare duty among servants. Most don't have the education to be doctors or healers. Medics are well-revered in my clan, and Mari holds respect among many of her class and the soldiers. The Vanguard, Brennus' Mass, often holds unity and brotherhood in high esteem, giving Mari a good lot in life as a Servant of the Captain. There are exceptions, of course. But, they are usually quite chill with her. Edit: I forgot this guy! He's a Germophobic Alchemist who has found himself in the Scarred Wasteland somehow. If it were not for the fact that the Scarred Wasteland itself provides the best opportunity to produce medicine and vaccines against the Germs, Moriset would have never come near the place. His own reasoning of avoiding his fear has allowed him to live surrounded it. Weird, yeah? Anyway, as an Alchemist for the clan, Moriset makes many bottles of Ice magic for use as weapons or food preservation. He also produces medications for the clan's doctors when he can spare them himself. Moriset's mobile home/workshop comprised largely of Bronze and Brass, both having antimicrobial properties, and the inside is essentially a clean room. His exposure outside is strictly limited typically. Most of the time, Moriset stays far off the ground upon or near his cart if he is outside. The Pearl can be a problem because of it growing far more than Moriset though.

Thanks! Arnskar didn't think she'd cause a blizzard. He kind of just thought he'd end up making a cool area to lounge around.

@IronPen

It had been some time since Casey dismissed her family and she had since been sitting in her booth watching the snow flakes tumble down to Sornieth. It was a hypnotizing display, which held the young Librarian's attention steadfast. Until, that is, an object of a burnt-umber color cut through the wall of white and gray. The object, an autumn leaf, was quickly followed by another and then another. Eventually, a swirl of fall leaves broke up the hazy snow fall, shattering Casey's fixation.

"Where are those coming from?" she asked and no sooner had the words passed her lips then an orange Spiral sliped into the booth. The leaves that had jostled her attention away from the snow apparently originated with her. The leaves floated about her body along with a perpetual fall breeze. Along with her was a Guardian of bright fuchsia and cream as well as a dark Tundra.

The realization that she had guests caused a smile to curl her lips. She, naturally, stood to welcome the visitors, before turning right back to her journal and anxious quill. Eager, as she was, to record the stories they brought with them.

Hey there =) Oh my I love Kenobi! I've always adored that Spiral. She's just so pretty. Though her and Skywalker's lore still leaves me curious about what happened when they met. I might have asked that question before concerning the two, but I honestly cannot remember.

Aleksei is also a really pretty dragon. That outfit you put him in fits very well. I feel like he's moody? or broody? Did you find the stained dragon you were looking for, or was it just a general search?

Yarja is very... bright. And very pretty. What was your plan for the cream/fuchsia with Arcane eyes?

@Azurenight The problem with my fandragons is that after a certain point unless I explicitly write it, it becomes some twisted amalgamation of every fanfiction headcanon I love and considering I love AUs those can go far afield, there were definitely beastclan(probably longnecks) involved and beastclan speculated slavery of dragons and that Kenobi and Skywalker eventually free themselves...everything else in between is still unsettled. Like how much AU Vader my Skywalekr takes after. I feel like he's a quiet soul but more goth aesthetic then brooding emo. And yes I did! But I can't recall exactly who other then Kenobi herself or Faith. Currently ungened in my lair but look at those colors! Ice eyes would ruin the effect and her tert wouldn't work as well. I found these looks from a hatchery pair but they ended up closing and the combo is not easy to find. Yarja is the closest I got but I didn't want to start everything again by sending her off to get bred so I got another pair for colors and got Hirwen.

...spelled gaolers. Casey finished the notion with a quick poke of her quill. "Done," she told no one in particular. Not that anyone would over hear her statement; the booth was empty with the exception of her. Now that her notes were finished, she was afforded a moment to take in the world around her.

The crowd huddled as tightly together as they could, which, in the cold weather of the tundra, was the smartest thing to do. A quick chuckle burst from her nose as she thought back to a quartet of Lightning Ridgebacks that passed her booth. They, at first, startled her into thinking they were an Emperor. The group had bundled themselves so closely together that they appeared to have one body with four heads and sixteen legs.

As Casey was reflecting on the Emperor Ridgeback a shimmer of dark blue caught her eye. Naturally, she looked up to see what it was and discovered Mzinchaleft making his way towards her. It was good to see a friendly face, so when she stood to greet him she did so with a warm smile. "You as well," she returned his greeting before returning to her seat. "Indeed it has, too long. I have missed your tales." With quill in paw she perched over her journal, eager to hear her guest’s story.

The more the Librarian heard, the more the quill slowed until it had stopped altogether. She sat now staring in disbelief at her guest; an acquaintance she was beginning to consider a friend. Tarry substance? she wondered and Mzinchaleft was kind enough to show her. At first the appearance of the goo caused her to recoil, but the longer she sat there she realized she sensed no negative energy from what leaked from the Nocturne. The only energy she sensed was his frigid aura.

There was a moment when she wished to question him further about the 'tar', but before she could utter the first word he was stealing her breath away. She listened to his description of Cielo and felt the pang of sorrow at his declaration of impending death. When he turned to leave, Casey blindly lifted a paw towards him. This was not so much to halt his retreat as it was meant to offer comfort.

He had vanished into the crowed before she could find the voice to call after. She stood there, staring into the dense sea of carnival goers, trying much in vain to locate Mzinchaleft. The task proved futile and eventually Casey slumped back to her seat. "Did my Dad know this sorrow?" she whispered.

After a moment she was able to compose herself, at least enough to do the one thing she could do: record what she was told. Casey returned her attention to her journal to convey the rest of Mzinchaleft’s story. If nothing else, then perhaps one day it would prove a comfort to someone else.

Hey there =) Truth be told, you likely did tell me to change it and I just managed to forget =/. I do have it updated now =) Cielo is a beautiful dragon, I love his color and gene mix. He came from space? Is he a seer like Mzinchaleft? Also, I saw that poor Mzinchaleft has only 3 years left. Will that be an actual three years, or will it be shorter? I'm going to miss him if he leaves... unless you have a brilliant plan to save him at the last minute? *A bright and eager smile follows that last question*

I'm going to miss him if he leaves... unless you have a brilliant plan to save him at the last minute? *A bright and eager smile follows that last question*

@Azurenight Ah, no worries XD Thank you!! I got really lucky when I found him for sale on the forums! Cielo is actually my newest mainlore perma, so I haven't really thought in depth about what his story is yet. He is from space, that's certain, and no, he's not a seer. He's got something else going on - though I haven't really decided what exactly that is yet! Cielo is very old compared to Sornieth years, but is still a child compared to the other space dragons in my lair. He's new to Sornieth as well, so those two things render him about the maturity and experience of an adolescent. Mzinchaleft was the first to find him, and immediately thought of him as a child of his own. Hence, he 'adopted' him, essentially. You saw that note in his bio, heheheh c: Mzinchaleft will not be saved, no, at least I have no plans to save him. Three years in my lairtime does not match up with site time, so he'll probably still be alive and well three RL years from now! Even if his death passes while I'm still on FR, I won't be getting rid of him! I love him way too much. I haven't written it in his bio yet, and I think I may actually put it in this dragon's bio since she is the cause. Mzinchaleft's gift likely came from Ancient: A very old and cryptic space dragon that claims to awaken other's true potential. Unbeknownst to most that receive their gifts, however, is the price that that gift carries. It's different for every dragon - for Mzinchaleft, it's at the cost of his life, because his iceborne soul cannot handle the power of a water gift. Ancient actually gave Mzin his gift after he hit his head and fell unconscious. She never asked him if he wanted it, and gave it as more like a curse of sorts because of his quest for knowledge. My best guess as to why she did that is because she saw his hunger for enlightenment unbefitting an ice dragon - and thus, gave him a gift unfitting for one as well. If you tilt your head and squint, there is a hole there that I can exploit to make Mzinchaleft escape his untimely death. I've never fully elaborated on the full capabilities of any of the space dragons in my lair, so what all they can do in regards to this remains unknown. There's a possibility that Cielo himself could reverse the side effects, or make Ancient (or even one of the others) revoke it themselves. Maybe the power that Ancient claims isn't unique to her being! I want to keep my options open regarding Mzinchaleft's true fate C:

I am WOOSH, and this is my great grandson, also named WOOSH. I'm a very busy dragon so let's hurry this along. I'm a clan leader, ex oracle, and master sorcerer. I'm sure you'd like to know how I live life so fabulously, but I don't have the time to bother with you. : Hi. Um, sorry, you'll have to excuse him, he's not always the most...polite. I'm also a clan leader I suppose, but hardly. My grandpa and great grandpa do most of that. Other than that I'm an oracle- : HARDLY! YOUR PROPHECIES ARE TRASH! Suddenly WOOSH freezes and in an unnatural voice drones:
The summer is the most important thing ... it's a burden to continue. It is the ultimate cup of papaya. Her leaves fall to her. Bring your kidneys into the leaf to order. It is important that ever Everleigh's life will be in danger of being lost and deceived.
Then he looks around, worried.
That's...not good.
