Vesuvius is a name known through history. History books can't be true history without his name. So he carries the fire tome with him to symbolize his historical aspect.
Historically, the cats and dogs were said to sense the impeding doom on them and scatter in fear. The people of the village were startled but they couldn't have guessed of their fiery death. So orange tabby grabs onto his tail for dear life.
Orange clawtips are subtle but noticeable. They don't dim his light but make it glowing.
Solar flame candles really bring in his purple-blue colour. For they are of the power of the sun but with the slightest hint of the blue sky that would bathe in ashes as the volcano erupts.
The bewitching ruby grasp symbolizes are people struggled to get out. People ran, people screamed, people lost. Forever encased in ash, their final actions of grasping for air immortalized in Pompeii.
The other apparel pieces were for added effect. I thought that the skins/accents jst overpowered his eyes and they're the most important! I hope you like!
