Oh man that's a tough one. If I ignore my progens (because [i]of course[/i] I adore my custom progen, and I really lucked out on the colours of my random too) then I suppose I'd have to say the that my biggest "never sell, have too much time, treasure, and gems invested in him" dragon would be my aptly named Moneypit:

He started out as an unsold nocturne hatchling with ugly colours that I had left over after the first NotN event. I had done very well financially during that first event, so I decided, what the heck, I might as well keep him and turn him into a project dragon. Throw scatterscrolls at him to ger better colours, gene him up, etc. So I named him Project and started scattering him and eventually got him crystal/facet and spines for his genetics. Renamed him to faramir, found him a mate, bred him a little, got tired of his colours and scatterscrolled him some more and changed his tert to smoke. Renamed him to Moneypit. Bred him some more. Got him the glimmer gene. New colour wheel went live; scatterscrolled him again. Bred him again. Completelty redid his genetics to falcon-peregrine-stained.
I'm sure at some point I'll throw even more scatterscrolls at him; at this point in time I've used up 31 of them on him. Probably regene him again at some point too, because I. Am. NEVER. Getting. Rid. Of. Him.

Only one?? I'll have to say Venant. He's one of my luckiest G1 hatches. They only way he could be better is if he was a light dragon.

Honestly this was a very, very hard choice because I have so many favorite children but I'm gonna have to slap down my pride and joy, my son, and the only pearlcatcher I will ever tolerate in my clan, Okhotsk.

[sub]recently acquired, yes, but he's here permanently. i hatched him and fell in love with his fire / coal colors - look how coal petals accentuates fire hex ♥ he looks like a glowing ember and i really, really dig it. also all that money spent on him... he can't ever leave, no.
