I definitely plan on reading through their bios after I post this!
Haha ok, brace yourself for this. Basically there are 15 tribes on their planet, which I've recently decided to call Sescora (we'll see if that sticks), and each tribe has their own specialties and advantages. Riverglow is a tribe that works alongside two other tribes that encircle one very large one, called Starglade, which is basically extremely advanced in technology. Those three tribes serve as their defense as they put all of their focus on technology while the other tribes of Sescora divert their focus on all of the different tribal needs.
As I mentioned each tribe has their specialties, for example Leafhollow specializes in poison. Moonshadow is a warrior tribe and their forest lights up like the world in the avatar movie. Riverglow specializes in defense. Rivercross lives next to a large river and they farm gemstones from it that they create jewelry out of and sell. And the list goes on.
The whole planet was designed to have as many original ideas that I can create. I've even made their own written language though I haven't put sound to it. All of their animals are original to that world and not like earthly animals. There's crystals and powers, and spiritual forces and all kinds of cool stuff in this world. For example one of the tribes lives on floating stone islands and they specialize in flight, and flying mounts. One cool thing with them is they create something like a skateboard except it's a hover board. It's made out of the floating island rocks so it has magnetic properties that allows it to hover.
One of the main parts of my story, which is important with Grim as you'll see later, is a tribe called Nightwhisper. They are human cat hybrids called Nahri's. They have feline ears, tail, fangs, claws, night vision, sense of smell, and jumping abilities. Obviously as I mentioned cats aren't in this world but they have their features. They have a very strong caste system where pure white furred/haired Nahri's are called Moonflowers are regarded as royalty and they are served directly by Nightclaws, which are purely black furred/haired. Nghtclaws are also the warriors of the tribe. There are two lower classes called Silverpelts (gray themed Nahris) and Goldenpaws (brown themed Nahris), and these two classes are highly mistreated by the upper two classes, mainly the Moonflowers. They buy them into slavery and force them to work for them while also forcing them to pay taxes or whatever to them. Yeah I know it's brutal ^^' but's it was made for the backstory of one of my main characters. When a Nahri is brought into slavery they are give a name which is imprinted on their left collar bone.
Moonflowers live in pure luxury where they have anything they want at their finger tips and nearly endless amounts of money. They don't have to work or do any physical labor while they boss around everyone else. The Nightclaws live in decent-very nice homes where they also boss around he lower classes but to a lesser extent. The Silverpelts and Goldenpaws live in low quality homes and work hard to make a living.
With Grimoire, I haven't gotten a back story for him yet, besides nurturing his powers, before the day that he went into Nightwhisper for Tribal business. While he was there he came across a Nightclaw beating up a Silverpelt slave and he had compassion on him and ended up buying him into freedom. He had no intentions on bringing anyone back to Riverglow with him so he offered him to be free in Nightwhisper or start a new life by coming back with him to Riverglow and work along side him in the Tribal Defense as a companion, not a slave. He chose to go back with Grim and they became extremely close. Grim gave him back his real name, Maceus, though everyone else in Riverglow just calls him Macey, and he trained him personally as well as put him through the classes for Tribal defense. As he excelled above the other tribal defense members Grim placed him as the ambassador of the tribal defense. He is basically an extension of Grim and serves directly along side of him and obeys all of his orders out of gratitude to him. That is until he spares a girl from rivercross while raiding a group of Moonshadow tribe members who were doing illegal trading on their land... but that's a whole other story in itself, and he still almost always obeys him when he isn't suckered into going along with the girl who becomes his best friend.
This is Maceus. He has a decent amount of art on his bio and it shows what a Nahri is basically. He looks a lot like a Moonflower but his slight silver markings are the only thing that give away his silverpelt blood.

And that's not the half of it, but I won't overload you. Now on to reading about all of your dragons! :)
