Yes, I shorten some long names to one syllable (I also do that to people irl if it works well. I am lazy and like 3-letter names.)
Like Bipropellant = Bip and Pomegranate = Pom.

BubblegumQuasar and SpaceRaspberryCloud have obnoxiously long names that can be shortened to Bubble/Rasp, Quasar/Cloud, or BQ/SRC.

In lore, Blender is nicknamed 'Ender' by clanmates because her job is marking the end of the clan (staying at the back as they travel)

Also I nickname my unnamed dragons. Currently have Swimming Pool, Chilli Pepper, Amber and Mince.

Retsurai I usually call just Retsu.

I rarely even call Ren Renata anymore.

Desoto I call Dessy because he's cute <3

Eventide I usually call Eve because a male dragon with a female name = funny, right?

Madeira and Gabriel are my favourite breeding pair, just because I shorten their names to Maddy & Gabby.

I couldn't pronounce the name this AH rescue came with, so he's been nicknamed Pretty Boy. (It's worked itself into his lore now and I don't want to change it. XP)

Neo (Neapolitan) are the only dragons in my lair with nicknames. Relvie is happy with anyone calling him Relvs but "Neo" is reserved just for Neapolitan's close friends.

@Denryu Eve, though! I'm so happy to see other people embrace the royal/royal/sunshine love, and the duplicates that came from my project to actually get homes instead of being exalted! I feel like I own or bred half the royal/royal/sunshines still on the site, but I guess that isn't very true anymore, now that I checked the search, since I've finished the project and now other people are breeding them. :)
