The broodmistress found the latest heiress a mate remarkably like her grandfather. However, Penumbra unfortunately followed in her mother's footsteps and laid a single-egg nest. This did, admittedly, make it easy to find a lair space for the hatchling. Other similarities included the gender, primary and secondary colors, and genes of the heiress. The tertiary, however, moved down from bright pink to a rich red. This made the line's earlier generations happy, though Shadowsloss is beginning to despair of gaining a wildclaw heir.

The search for the next consort began immediately, but only added to the stress of the line founder, as suitable males were not to be found for many days.

The final generation of the legacy came at such a busy time for the clan that some of the records were lost. What is certain is that Penulta eventually did much like her mother; she mated a wildclaw, laid a single egg, and hatched a daughter much like herself. The final heiress did get her father's primary:

All in all, a fine heiress, and Shadowsloss continues to dote on her lady and her mother to this day! How the proper records of the final hatching were lost remains a mystery, but so long as young Skia prospers and serves the clan well and honorably, the mystery will probably be forgotten itself in due time.
