TOPIC | Real Albino dragons. What says you?
So over time I randomly, out of curiosity, look to see if there's other albino dragons that, in my derp mind, to me are ACTUALLY albino. I was curious as to what qualifies to other people as an actual albino dragon because I was thinking of just being silly I guess and making a little "stamp" or "ribbon" to put under my dragon as an actual "certified" albino. Because I'm lame like that and I enjoy what breeding throws at you. I knew as soon as I began playing a while back that I had to have an actual (in my opinion mind you) albino male ridgeback. So when my boyfriend started playing, and chose the plague flight and even made a white, white female, I was excited and instantly searched for a appropriate male to breed her to after I obtained his approval. This was when white's were far more expensive and not so abundant. So I ended up paying, what we now consider, a hefty price for a rose, maize, can't remember male tundra. So then this guy happened, and I've loved him ever since. I remember saving all I could for that ridgeback scroll to scroll him and the crazy joy that came from scrolling him. ----- So I was curious as to what other's deemed "true albino" and what you think of my opinion on it, below are what I require to be a "true" albino dragon: Must have Plague eyes. No exceptions. Must only have basic genes but Iridescent and Shimmer are permitted and only tertiary genes IF the tertiary color is white or maize. Primary must be: White Secondary must be: Maize (unless the dragon has feathered wings, such as a skydancer or coatl) Tertiary must be: White or Maize ONLY if a tertiary gene is present. Tertiary may be any color if the tertiary is basic. So why do you ask are these my "requirments?" White as a primary color, to me for ridgebacks, causes their ridges to have a albino look to them more so than maize. Because when you have a maize ridgeback their ridges have that gold-ish color to them. I've not entirely looked at each dragon breed though! Some are not so prominent! Only basic or Iridescent because, to me, the white gene markings that genes give such as clown and tiger etc are a grey hue rather than a pink-ish peachy like color albinos animals really have most of the time. I think to me if they have markings like tiger, clown, speckle they look more like a melanistic rather than albino. Maize as a secondary for a similar reasons at the primary, again speaking in terms of ridgies for me. Maize for ridgebacks because it's a just the right amount of off-white for their non feathered/furred wings. Where as you see albino ravens have white feathers but an albino animal that is not scaled in a particular are or etc has a off white tint. I hope that makes sense lol. Same for the basic/shimmer genes only as I explained for the primary since the maize color has a gold-ish color to it in tiger, clown, freckle markings. Tertiaries can be any color to me if they're only basic since they are a hidden gene color. If you want your dragon to have a un-hidden tert (as in give it gembond or underbelly or circut) then I believe they should only be white or maize and sometimes ice. As they don't have a hugely different tint to them like the other genes give like maize clown's gold markings etc. Perhaps those with un-hidden terts could be deemed Lethal White Albinos? SO I WAS curious what other's think. Because I noticed when my boyfriend WAS Plague, he is now Light, that he showed me the albino's breeding thread. Which may still be around but that was a long while back~ SO anyone's thoughts on this? I've only looked at ridgebacks since I love those as albinos. Should work on some neat little ribbons with a mini dragon of the user's a long with their lair/dragon number? Or something else similar to hand out to people who do breed "true albinos" or "lethal white albinos"? It's not glorious or anything in the real world for OBVIOUS reasons as it promotes un-healthy future little ones. BUT this is a fictional dragon pet site so I thought it'd be different in a sense lol. I'd kinda like to start getting involved or start some groups on my own of breeding types like you see with the Neon Wings and I've not really seen a "true albino" group or anything that hands out little things you can place on your hatcheries. If there is one though then I've simply not seen it is all and would love to be directed to it to see what their take is on an albino dragon. But I think if I started my own I'd have different requirements for different breeds as some colors and such look slightly different on different dragons. ^u^ Sorry it's so much to read! Pftt.

^u^ Sorry it's so much to read! Pftt.
This is my 'real' albino, Rubrum. Maize/Coral with Tangerine tert and Arcane eyes. He's not perfect, my ideal dragon would have an Ivory tert, but he's close enough! What I would look for in a really albino-looking dragon is a White or Maize primary, with any of the following colors for secondary: Rose, Coral, Ivory, maybe Pink or Banana, maayyyybe Tangerine depending on breed/genes. Bonus points if the tert is also one of these. Eyes should be Plague, Arcane, or Ice (not all albino creatures have reddish eyes!) There's actually a lot of variation in albinism from species to species, heck, some albino snakes are like bright yellow. When/if Points ever comes out it could be great for bringing out fleshy pink terts on the face and feet.

@Cynictis (not sure if I ping people I guess XD)

Agreed on the points with the terties etc! I think Ivory works nicely to now that I think about it but to me I think the pink colors for this site are just a bit to pink and not peachy-ish enough? If that makes sense and Tangerine a bit to bright. Oh gosh I wish we had a Peach color option but we have so many I'm okay without it x3! But that's just me! Not saying anything bad about them of course!! Same, to me, goes for the arcane eyes since they're purpley kinda. I think for me ice eyes, when thinking of albinos, just looks like they're blind or molting to be considered when I'm thinking about making a group of true albino dragons. I only say that as thinking of the group that have the images used by breeders for Neon Wings etc~

But you definitely brought up things I didn't even think about at all! Oh gosh that pearl catcher is so lovely though. I ADORE maize, coral especially with seraph. Coral seraph is so pretty to me like beige and stone as well and slate that seem to go under appreciated ;A;!

I thought about making a sorta "vintage" breeding group int he future that includes seraph wings ;u; But that's for another topic and another time x3!!

Also, Rubrum is such an awesome name..I may have to write that down for a future dragon! So niceee!

Edit: I TOTALLY thought you had an accent on him to because of those pink horns but you totally don't oh my gosh! See it just goes to show that different breeds have different colors so that's I mentioned having different requirements for different breeds! Oh gosh I didn't even know he didn't have an accent. He's so pretty! So now yeah I think that the arcane eyes would work and the wings for different breeds. How NEAT!!

I'm getting overly excited, sometimes I think I'm a duntz for getting excited over fictional online creature breeding lmao. But it's fun!!!
