you're good, no worries, it's nice-
the internet can feel really transactional- that has been bothering me a bit lately too. it feels better sticking to smaller/slower spaces sometimes- easier to keep in mind the goal of communicating a feeling/idea, over the impulse to "post so number go up". idk though, I don't think I've really solved it either, internet remains internet.

that's actually the reason i started this thread- i do have a fr blog, but i hardly use it, and posting in the big fr tags doesn't really feel like anyone sees what i put out, y'know? just visual clutter. especially if it's just doodles.
this is nicer- all opt-in, i'm not forcing anyone to look at anything, so i can spam low-effort nonsense if i want to, and there's room to chat and have discussions if they pop up. now i'm rambling, i guess, but you get what i mean- it's another way of trying to find a more natural environment for sticking my drawings on the fridge door.

on a different note- you never know, even if you feel like your skills aren't getting better they can still change/develop, just through getting bored of drawing one thing/one way and moving on to the next (doesn't make the feeling of the ceiling less frustrating, but still)

yeah i had to quit my social media because the way i interact with others isn't conducive to platforms like that, and then i would expect others to do what i wasn't willing to do and wondered why i got like 0 engagement -_- i've no experience with forums until i started posting on the site so i didn't grow up with them (neopets doesn't count i just stayed in the avatar boards anyways) but i feel like this format is actually amazing for artwork because it feels a lot more like a blog than something like deviantart. singular posts are great for archival and sorting purposes and isolating conversations to specific pieces but with a thread you get everything in one place and conversation can flow a lot more naturally. it is a lot cozier here that's for sure, no need to worry that your post will immediately get swallowed up unless you're in dragon sales forums or something.

i can't really be talking about improvement with only having drawn 5 entire things in 2 weeks but i do feel myself remembering how certain shapes work after being out of practice for quite a few years. i imagine everyone comes to realize this at some point but changing and adapting your style to find your strengths and cover your weaknesses is part of the growth process, i may not get a perfect grasp on anatomy but i can stylize it enough to still convey what i mean without things looking jarring. the problem is just the colors then XD

@bulrush yeah it's a mess out there. forums are very comfy! my intro to interactive internet was the old WCRPG forums, i had a similar thread for a bit there too. it is much less stressful than the fight to get noticed in other formats, nothing's gonna get "lost to time", outside of image hosting sites going down, unless you choose to stop using the thread yourself. the point doesn't have to be "getting noticed" of course, just archival and being able to see related things in one place is cool for me, but you get the idea. haha, understandable- fun to rediscover shapes/find new stylization tech too, though. you have a fun use of colors, i don't remember if i already said that though pft. i don't know much about the references your characters have but i always think the cheery and stoic character types are always fun to bounce off of eachother.

haha thanks :D i'm trying to mess with colors a little more, they're not very intuitive yet- have to get myself to go "i like this color :)" like a 1st grader, y'know?
