Hey, thought I'd have a place to put random things I've done either in my art class or on my own...

Watercolor done during studio free time at the arts center where I take classes:

(wow, that got huge considering it's about four inches IRL)

This little guy was eventually re-done as a watercolor, but here's the colored sketch version. For reference I used a random photo of an octopus that my mother sent me, but made some tweaks and changes to make him more my own.

Hands, also done later in watercolors.

A weird little sketch I did that I loved and should eventually do as a REAL final piece

Well done on those hands! They look wonderful! Do you think you will share the watercolored version?

And I definitely agree that you should take the "weird little sketch" to completion.

When the watercolor piece is finished-- I think it was moved to my large portfolio in the back of the art class studio while I was working on something else... I don't know if I have any WIP photos of the watercolor version, I'm clearly not the most organized person, haha.

When the watercolor piece is finished-- I think it was moved to my large portfolio in the back of the art class studio while I was working on something else... I don't know if I have any WIP photos of the watercolor version, I'm clearly not the most organized person, haha.

Ugh I can't get my images to work... gonna try a link so I don't totally lose my thread while I try to get pictures to work. I was doodling dragons over my whole lunch break and now I can't get ANYTHING to work.

All right, hopefully everything's working for me, and I got a bunch of gijinka drawings uploaded at last (just done in colored pencil, sorry for the picture quality as I don't have access to a scanner so I just took them with my phone!) [img]http://i.imgur.com/TQgQasfl.jpg[/img] Arastina's gijinka form came out kind of elven... And she's not missing an arm, but I didn't want it to block any clothing details. It's cropped down so you can't see the pants, but there's a lace cutout over the side of the thigh. I wanted to use that and the frills on her top to kind of echo the crackle. [img]http://i.imgur.com/vYgOC6Rl.jpg[/img] Marshmallow's gijinka will always be a young teen girl, even though she's all grown up now... She's got albinism and wears shimmery pastels. I put wings on her shiny plastic backpack, though they're angel wings so they don't look very draconic... and she has a puffy stress ball material marshmallow twist keychain hanging from her belt loop. [img]http://i.imgur.com/4ot3qTVl.jpg[/img] [img]http://i.imgur.com/7a2ggVil.jpg[/img] I think Celestin also has some albinism going on in his gijinka form... I just feel like otherwise he'd have dark skin and hair and eyes. But he's definitely also got magic going on. Some sort of cleric/mage/priest class thing. I'm not sure about the robes, though. Also, the beard is green naturally. Well, not 'naturally', but Because Magic and not because he does anything with it on purpose to make it look cool. I hope that I get better at doing ship stuff over the course of this... I'm not sure how many pages I can really do as enormous watercolors, as there's over ten storyboarded out so far and it's not remotely done. I mean, it would be amazing to have a gallery show that's essentially a comic, but the arts center doesn't always give us gallery space, we just have the studio upstairs and occasional use of the dance room and theater space downstairs for classes... so when we do get a show, the odds of anyone getting to display that much of their own work... yeah. It's basically thirty-odd people competing for spots when we do get a show, and we've never had the main gallery.
