There are more that were hatched today on their way, but their Lore is currently in the works, so they are not currently listed. We also have some rare color combo non-hatchery hatchlings without lore that are looking for a home! We have two beautiful Starry Circuitboard Hatchlings, who got the message and both came with ice tertiaries in celebration of the Gala! We also have two Icewarden Deity dragons, who look up to Icewarden so much that they have his colors. Several of the dragons who were brave enough to travel through the frozen domain heard odd sounds and never made it home. The ones who did made sure to stay far away from the continual whirring and roaring. And still, no one but Aurora knows what she is experimenting. Nobody but her. His shovel got stuck occasionally, but soon his den was clear of snow. Then, the kettle began to ring. He hurried over to take it off of the fireplace, and made sure to add a few more logs to make everything warm and cozy. “Rugs!” he thought. There was nothing more comfortable than rugs and blankets, right? Soon, the den’s floor was covered in rugs, pillows, and blankets (kept far from the fireplace). But then, the tea was cold again! It didn’t take too long to warm up this time, but he needed to keep it warm, so he shovel a tiny bit of snow in the fireplace to cool it down a little. He could add more soon. He set out snacks, then he remembered the sign. It would be the perfect finishing touch. Outside his den, he put up an intricate sign that said: [font=mistral][i]”Welcome to Chill’s Den. It’s time to Chill!”[/i][/font] Chill didn’t know what to do after everything was ready. He made himself comfortable, then paced, then sat down again, then checked to make sure the snacks and tea were okay, then sat again. Finally, he heard bells ringing in the distance! They were here! His little party could commence! Slowly, everyone made their way in, and he greeted each at the door, making sure his friends felt comfortable and at home. Then, [i]she[/i] came in. Chill froze in his tracks, his jaw slack. He shook off his shock like the snow, and greeted her. All the while, his heart was doing flips and his knees were trembling. “Come in, come in! It’s been so long, do you want any tea or snacks?” As he led her over to the fireplace to sit with the other dragons, Chill began to relax, and a deep happiness settled on him. Here he was, with the love of his life, friends, food, and tea. Life was good, at least right now it was. The rewards were in order, ice sculptures lined the city, vendors from all over the Southern Icefield gathered, selling food, souvenirs, winter clothes, and more. The decorations shone in the crisp air, and art dedicated to Icewarden was plentiful. In the midst of the bustle, Yearning marched, ensuring everything went to plan. “Skating rink, check. Popsicle stand next to warm stew restaurant, check,” she muttered as she went through her list. Then, an elderly Bogsneak joined her. “Yearning, you need to take a break,” he told her. “This year’s festival is as good as last year’s, if not ten times better. Every time you are in charge of preparations, you burn yourself out. This doesn’t have to be the best celebration ever, all it needs to be is fun. For us and for you.” Yearning sighed, then turned on him. “Just because I work hard doesn’t mean I’m burning myself out.” “Then explain to me why no one sees you for weeks after Crystalline Gala every year.” “I… just need my space after being around so many dragons,” she said. The Bogsneak shook his head. “No. You don’t do that after any of the other festivals.” “I–” “Stop right there,” he commanded. “I’m not telling you to do anything. If you don’t want to change your approach, fine. But Yearning, I care about you. We all do. And we want you to enjoy yourself: Just because you’ve been blessed by Icewarden does [i]not[/i] mean you have to prove yourself to him.” Yearning nodded, and the Bogsneak looked satisfied. He left her to her business. After multiple rounds and inspections, with tedious peacemaking on issues such as the ice carver’s sculpture melting because of the campfire sing-along event, Yearning collapsed at her favorite stand, the hot chocolate. She thought about the months of hard work she put into her clan’s festivities, and what her friend had told her. “This hot chocolate is all the break I need,” she lied. As she stared into the bottom of her mug, she didn’t notice the dragons flowing steadily her way from all corners of the Gala. “Yearning! Happy Crystalline Gala!” Yearning looked up to see her friends and family surrounding her, with icy laurels and gifts. Stunned, Yearning sat there, until the Bogsneak came forward. “If you won’t take a break and have fun, we’ll bring it to you!” he said. And a smile lit on Yearning’s face.
