TOPIC | [A] Shadow Sprite! AUCTION OVER!
@Alkhor I think we've just seen what snipe guards are differently. I've always seen them at the end of an auction and not during, so that's what I had in place for this one. (Actually for a better explanation, the use/definition that I use for it is from here!) This auction was always set to end at 1:00am my time/01:00am server time, unless someone bid in the final half hour which would have extended it.

That said I am sorry because of the misunderstanding you missed this auction's end, though. I'll be sure because of this for any future auctions I do to mention the snipe guard is for the end of the auction more clearly, to avoid any confusion. And hey, I wish you luck in any auctions you bid on in the future! I'm sure you'll land a sprite of your own sooner or later. :)

@Hebi let's say it works at the and.
BUT if default end time let's say 27 1:00 and SB setted as 1hour, that means in my opinion, that auc ends either not earler than 27 1:00 AND not earler than "last bid time+SG"
I.E. if last bid was half a hour before end time, it sets "new end time " as 1:30.
If someone makes another bid before "new time lasts" it makes another "new end time"
overwise how it should guard" from "last second biders"?

@Alkhor If someone had indeed bid between 12:30-1:00am it would extend the bid to 12:30-1:00pm later that day because of the guard, which gives everyone involved 12 hours to see that there's been a new bid taken place right before the end, and a chance to out bid that person. And if someone bid close to the end of the new bidding time period it would extend it further, to keep things fair.

So it 'guards' the bidders by preventing said person who bids in the end from getting it just because they made it right before the finish of the auction, and in this case would give everyone 12 hours to have a chance to outbid them.

Although in this auction I didn't have to 'activate'/extend time with a snipe guard since the last active bid sat uncontested for three hours before it ended, so there was still time for people to outbid the highest bidder at the time. Had it been any closer I would have extended it, if that makes sense. (Also the time I ended it was completely just a time I thought up at random, and one I knew I would be around for.)

@Hebi I did not see diffirence in principal of how it works with our opinion, thus I can not understand WHY you have finished auc BEFORE 12 hours past from last bid.

@Alkhor Because the auction was set to end at 1am, and no one 'sniped' a bid last minute to need a snipe guard active to extend it. All bets were made within reasonable time of the auction running, with no bids close to the end to extend it. It would have been active had there been bets past 12:30 of the auction time and not per bid, or else it would be a +12 hour extension per bid and not just at the end to prevent anyone from sniping it at the end (from what I understand of what you were picturing). All bids and outbids were made during the time of the auction, with five hours (technically 4 and a half) of no one bidding till the auction's end.

I don't really know how else to explain how I planned on using a snipe guard besides extending it if anyone had bid in the last 15 minutes of the auction sadly. I really am sorry that you missed out on winning this one, but there will be other auctions for you! With much more exciting dragons and treasure awaiting you. :)
