I would prefer if he isn't actively wearing the mask and it is simply resting on his head however.)

Namely his scales on his forehead are lighter than everywhere else on his body as he has wore a mask his entire life and the reason for that is because he has an occult/demonic symbol branded into his forehead. You can make the symbol whatever you want so long as it isn't overly complicated and is somewhat sinister/foreboding/demonic looking.
