Motavato
insolent | brusque | cold
Coterie Leader
"I'll be back before you know I'm gone," his older brother said to him that fateful night. "Before the sun rises, I'll be home."
A young Mota's eyes were filled to the brim with tears. "You promise?"
"I promise." His brother pressed Mota's small head to his own shoulder, stroking the back of Mota's head lightly. It might've been his imagination, but Mota could have sworn that his brother's fingers were trembling.
Mota closed his eyes and allowed the tears to fall against his older brother's shoulder.
When the sun rose the next morning, the clan leader drew a meeting and invited Mota and his family personally.
Amphion was ambushed by rogues as he left our clan last night. He did not survive.
From that day forward, Mota became angry, angry, angry - at himself, at the leader, at the world.
After the death of his older brother, Amphion, Mota's clan quickly fell to pieces. Without their best (and only) guard to protect them, the clan fell vulnerable, as proven by the ambush that struck them only a few days after Amphion's demise. Mota fled the clan in the chaos and never looked back.
From there, a young Mota wandered the world in search of food and refuge. When he could find none, he kept searching. When he found them, the luxuries were temporary, and Mota later found himself wandering again. With each passing day he wandered, Mota became angry, frustrated with the weak leadership that lead to his home clan's fall and with the void Amphion once occupied left empty. As Mota grew older, his wandering slowed, especially with the realization of why he was so angry: if you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself.
Originally a lone wolf of sorts, Mota's clan formed after fellow wanderers would stumble upon Mota and seek refuge. Mota would reluctantly agree, and after determining that a majority of the wanderers shared a similar goal of abolishing what they believed to be weak leadership, the coterie was formed. With his own clan under his strong leadership, Mota isn't one to actively cause trouble, but he'll sure as hell be the one to finish it. Don't try to cross his clan up and you'll be fine.
