Halaflora was too curious for her own good; even for a Lightning dragon. She wandered away from her clutch and managed to get herself thoroughly lost among the sands of the Shifting Expanse. That's how Aishling found her, crying and alone as night deepened on the desert. The traveling Water dragon instantly took in the hatchling. There was no dream of it, no hint of prophecy about this little dragonet. She was normal in every way that could be imagined, but she was also lost, and alone.

Halaflora came to the Winterling clan as a hatchling on a long and desperate flight, along with Aishling and Aurye. Aurye and Halaflora had more in common than they two had originally thought. Both orphans, both lost and found by Aishling, both adopted into a tiny clan of Ice dragons, the two formed a bond that went deeper than love.

The two were practically inseparable, until the surge of elemental magic that unleashed the Gaolers. Halaflora found herself irrevocably changed, and her comfortable place among the Winterlings dislodged. Made strange both to herself and her clan, she sought a new life, returning to the Windswept Plateau to find a new future in Nox's Clan. The dragons had never known such an elder and her experiences and stories quickly made her a treasure.
