Megaera

A wanderer at heart, Megaera left the clan of her parent's young. Drifting through The Wandering Contagion, she slowly collected knowledge about who, and what, she would come to be. A necromancer. This comprehension didn't change the one aspect of herself that Megaera ignored - her loneliness. Megaera had gone years without speaking to someone, in her driftings. Oftentimes she muttered theories and spells to herself to keep from losing her voice, the only thing that she knew to use that could interact with others. Isolated and alone, Megaera delved further and further into The Scarred Wasteland, eventually coming to The Abiding Boneyard. Through her examinations she watched and learned of the practices kept by the strange dragons that occupied the hazardous land. Untrained in the ways of combat, Megaera was quickly driven from the land by Clan protectors. Wisely, Megaera Fled. Megaera, enthralled by the traditions of her homeland, but driven out, wandered north, guided by the strange compelling aura that came from there. Hunting it down, curiosity aroused by the unknown feeling, she arrived at The Viridian Labyrinth. The first Clan she came across was loud, and rowdy. Disdained by the disregard for the traditions and knowledge she lived by, Megaera stopped observing and delved a bit futher into the outburst of green. She came across another Clan, a conglomerate of few dragons. Captivated by the unknowing nature and strange vitality, Megaera watched. Megaera watched for a long while. She watched until she as caught. A Guardian, several times bigger and stronger, held her gaze. Megaera backed away, knowing the ferocity of the race. Reluctantly, she turned to flee. She had liked observing this clan. Stop. The Guardian commanded, and talked. Talked of the home the Clan had wanted, spoke of the hope that gathered these dragons together, talked of hope so strong that the Guardian made this her charge. Declared these beliefs that made her stay, uttered the words that made her freeze. Would you like to stay? Stay? Megaera had never stayed anywhere, not since she as a hatchling. But for this cause, for this - she could hope that they would tolerate the wondrous, grotesque ways she followed. And she did. |
