Biography

The pulsating rhythm of the core sent peaks of sparks through Delusion's body.

Here, far beneath the murky waters, out of the sight of prying eyes, Delusion called her home. A massive Undertide, protected not only by the massive ocean currents above, but also the unique location of her home. Here, away from the normal life of the surface, a strange formation remained beneath the waters.

A massive artifact, mixed into the natural formations. It was a mix of colors, though the waters did not let Undertide make it out in any true clarity. Perhaps it was a dulled green. Perhaps it was simply black, as much around here looked. The piece of coral that had overtaken and grown into the strange structure cracked through holes in the sides. It stuck out at jagged angles, leaving the device held in its grasp permanently.

Around it, a wall of coral formed a forest that surrounded the larger piece in the middle. Somewhere within the natural growths, a crackling sensation would come from the ground below. Shocks of electricity snapped between the coral, the water passing the burst of energy. It lit the environment, a sharp path of light piercing through the forest from one piece of coral to the next.

This was where Delusion would reside. In an environment that many would consider at best, uncomfortable, at worst, hostile. But it was hers. And the isolation did not matter to her.

Instead, it was the device that would hold so many days of her attention. A mystery of the world, and one that emanated such a strange presence. What had created it? It was made of a hardened material. A metallic one. Someone, or something, must of made it.

How did it get here? It was near impossible to reach these depths, let alone craft something down here. So instead of that, it must of been transported down to here. But with the way the currents push ever so strong above, it made little sense how something could pass down this far. Delusion could only manage it with all of her effort. Many could not dream of such.

And what was its purpose? Delusion wondered if the sparks of electricity came before or after it's arrival. Either way, it helped complete the circuit. The light went through the internal mechanics, a deep blue glow shining through the shattered frame. It would take around thirteen minutes to build up energy, before a deep sound penetrated down through the coral forest. Then again, it would charge, before performing this unknown task once again.

There was so much to question. So much to ask.

Delusion spent countless days and nights studying the artifact, growing more attuned to its rhythms. Slowly, she began to decipher its purpose. The pulses of electricity were not random—they were messages, signals sent across vast distances. The device seemed to be a beacon, calling out to something far away, something hidden in the depths of the ocean, or perhaps, in another world altogether. The mystery within it pulled at Delusion, kept her close to it.

One day, she would understand it's purpose. And if not? Well, the mystery was always hers, and hers alone. Her hoard of secrets held the artifact as its prized possession, and none could contest her claim.
