These dragons descend from Conch and Basic, a pair of clan founders who struggled to produce viable offspring of their own. Conch set out to adopt as many hatchlings as she could after her firstborn sons struggled from their eggs too sickly to survive the night—it filled the void well enough, but it never quite sated her urges to have her own children prosper out in the world. Finally, when Conch and Basic managed to produce surviving children, it became Conch's mission to grow her family tree as big and widespread as possible, so that there would always be a few of her babies left in the world. |

Believers of Beauty: Descendants of Asu Asu has never quite been beautiful in the eyes of many, and faced much teasing as a fledgeling when he was tugged from his home in Meristema by the Search. But he never let it bother him nor cause him to view himself as any less, for he has always been a firm believer that true beauty lies within in the heart... and this conviction soon led him to his unorthodox charge: The confidence of other dragons. Descendants of Asu may not often be beautiful to the eye, but they have some of the purest and noblest of hearts to be found. They are valiant, level-headed souls, deterred by neither insult nor ridicule, and are often deeply trusted confidants to their clans. |

Queen Iris and Lord Sycamore are dragons who know the heartache of sorrow's icy grasp well. Iris was the lone survivor of a terrible disaster that befell her one and only home, while Sycamore was born a weak, sickly hatchling, rejected by his family and left to fend for himself. Together, they now raise each of their descendants with a warm, caring embrace, encouraging them to spread the message of love and hope to those in need, so no dragon need suffer the way they once did. |
