An outlier in Clan Sunsharp, he reports to no one but Alacrith, serving as her personal advisor and listening ear to her troubles. Outside of that, he’s a freeloader and a slacker, with a penchant for drinking and sleeping all day. The fact that he falls outside the chain of command makes him impossible to discipline, which chafes any clan member who would otherwise hold authority over him. Prickly, sarcastic, and not at all friendly, his helpful observations tend to come across as insults to the uninitiated. Alacrith finds his counsel essential - no matter how harsh - and regards him as something between an uncle and a mentor.

Not many dragons endorse Ohmar's lifestyle, but most begrudgingly agree he is a vital asset to Clan Sunsharp and its continued survival. He demonstrates a lifetime of diplomatic experience and warfare knowledge, and has even been known to help out in the training ring, correcting the acolytes on their form. He also claims partial credit for raising Rivuel, Clan Sunsharp’s lead envoy and Alacrith’s second daughter, though it’s up for debate whether he and his husband Priscus were a good or bad influence on the pearlcatcher’s developmental years.

Ohmar is cagey about his past and prefers not to discuss it with others. His eyes betray his Fire heritage, but little is known about his life before coming to Clan Sunsharp. Any questions on the subject are nonchalantly redirected, and his closer confidants refuse to impart details of the imperial’s origins. His experience suggests he's a bit more than the unremarkable old man he claims to be; theories amongst acolytes run anywhere between exiled criminal and fugitive royalty.
