Arcane & Nature Co-Push
Theme Announcement / Title Poll

Gf2FJZ3.png
Hello again everyone! It's just been a month since Greenskeeper Gathering, which means we're already just a month away from our co-push with Arcane!

The org teams of both flights have been hard at work coordinating between us, and we're ready to get the ball rolling with everyone - or the meteors flying, as you'll see --

Push Theme Announcement
We brought the theme suggestions from each flight together, and the teams voted on a unifying theme and incorporated as many individual elements of the suggestions as we could cram in cohesively.

There was a limit to how much we could reasonably fit into the lore, so there are other relevant elements we were enthusiastic about but ultimately didn't make it into the core theme -- we'd love to see those in art and event ideas as well!

Push Lore

Summer weather brings many changes to the physical world and the pace of life on Sornieth. It's also a particularly productive time for the ever-working academic sorts, including those from the Viridian Labyrinth and Starfall Isles. This time of year is great for tending to and observing flora and fauna who flourish in the sun and warm weather, and for looking up through clear warm skies perfect for celestial chartings. This year, the schools of Arcane Flight and Nature Flight have run an exchange program to broaden our students' field experience in new locations. And with our stellar luck, our students were able to gain the best views for an unexpected and very impressive meteor shower!

The nighttime show has been very exciting -- almost too exciting. In fact, one of the brighter nights' shooting star displays concluded in a dramatic way... with a meteorite breaking up in the atmosphere and sending chunks plummeting to the ground inside Nature territory! It's lucky that the Arcanites were already there to help, because the impact craters and surrounding areas have taken on some alien features. Weird new plants infused with arcane magic have started spreading rapidly, disrupting regular ecosystems. Dragons of both flights will need to combine their knowledge to study, catalogue, and contain these unusual and intriguing effects!

Initial lore by Teddy2008 with edits and suggestions by Arcane and Nature organizing teams.

For those who benefit from keywords, here's some of those for you!

Push Structure/Hook: meteorites have struck the ground in Nature territory! kind of a big deal; we should check out those impact craters

Main Themes:

Meteor Shower
there's a meteor shower going on! this is cool and a good jumping-off points for events and descriptions

Magic/Alien Plant Species
there's gotta be some sort of impact from those craters forming! in this case, weird things are happening to the plant life around the strike zones....

Academic Exchange / Student Field Trips / Cooperative Academics
our partnership on this push is based in the shared pursuit of knowledge and exploration of our world (and, I guess, whatever other-world plants we've got going on). there are Arcane visitors to Nature and Nature visitors to Arcane, all of whom will have things to study and explore.

Bonus Elements:

Though they didn't make it in to the main push structure so it wouldn't get super crowded, we'd love to see events, badges, etc. inspired by stargazing, the night sky, constellations, overlaps and aesthetic swaps between Arcane/Nature, alien/magical fauna, etc.. You're a creative lot - we know you can work in theme-adjacent ideas to the main structure!

Push Title Voting
We may be coming in with a ready-made theme, but we couldn't decide on what to call this push without your input!

We're sharing the poll below to Nature and Arcane Flight through Tuesday 2 July so everyone can vote on their theme title selections.
