Biography
Ossuary
Ossuary is a osteologist, who studies bones. In his case, it's more of a subset of paleontology; the bones he studies are mostly fossilized or at least extremely old. He both studies bones and collects bones, and both studies the bones he collects and collects the bones he studies.
His collection of bones has grown to become quite vast. Whenever he finds a bone on his own, he gleefully adds it to his collection. He frequently ventures out with his close friend, Spindle, to find more bones; they have a deal going where they go out on paleontology searches together, and they both get to keep what they find. Spindle is extraordinarily jealous of Ossuary's bone-finding skills, but both being an Earth dragon and not focusing on dinosaur bones makes it easier for him than her.
When he finds bones and adds them to his collection, Ossuary enjoys trying to rearrange them into a creature. He's good at identifying the type of bone and the species it comes from, but he scarcely finds enough bones to construct a complete skeleton. Instead, he mashes up various types and kinds of bones to create an entirely new creature, which he makes up facts about and tries to pass it off to his clanmates as a real creature. Spindle is particularly frustrated by this, and tries to argue with him about it, and yet he stands his ground with a massive grin on his face. He knows how this aggravates her, and thinks it's hilarious.
Ossuary is from the same home clan as Crag. The two grew up side by side, and ventured out towards Electrician's Edge together. He sees Crag as his brother, and the two spend most of their time together, when Ossuary isn't studying bones or with Spindle, and when Crag isn't off cave-diving. Both of them share their home clan with Bulwark, and may have heard his name in passing from the older generations, yet have never met him, nor do they know how nearby he is.
His clanmates frequently request that Ossuary give them a checkup on their bones, despite his protests and attempts to push them towards the healers. They think that since he's a bone scientist, he would be the best dragon to check them for bone injuries and deterioration. Ossuary gets them back by trolling them about it; he diagnoses them with fake conditions that emphasize that he only works with old bones, like "soggy bones" or "existence of marrow". Then, he shunts them off to the healers anyway.
